The suitable temperature for Clivia growth is 15~25℃, and when it is lower than 15℃, it grows poorly. Especially before sprouting, if it does not reach above 15℃, it is difficult to extract the scape. When clivia before flowering, should often observe whether there are raised traces of potted bulbs, once found that there is a possibility of archery, to adjust the temperature in time to facilitate the flower scape out.

The temperature difference is not enough Clivia growth habits like day and night temperature difference. If the temperature difference is small, it is difficult to pull. After flower bud differentiation and before arrow channeling, the temperature should be controlled at about 10℃, archery is easier, otherwise there will be arrow clamping phenomenon.

The lack of fertilizer is another reason for the arrow clip. In autumn, the amount of fertilizer required is increasing during the reproductive growth period of plants. At this time, the fertility is insufficient, which may affect the scape. After 3 years of cultivation, Clivia needs to increase the number of fertilizers in autumn. It is best to apply liquid fertilizer containing more phosphorus, and to alternately apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. If necessary, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer can be added to promote flower bud formation and early flowering.

When watering improper clivia arrows, such as lack of water will also make flower scape growth blocked and lead to clip arrows. Generally, when drawing arrows, increase the amount of watering, keep the pot soil moist, and cannot dry and irrigate again, otherwise, the bulbs and leaves will be blocked due to lack of water, so that the arrows affect flowering.

Bulb pressure is too large when the plant into reproductive growth, we should always pay attention to the changes in bulbs. If bulb bulges, one side hypertrophy, indicating flower arrow in development, then should stop fertilizer 2 weeks, otherwise it will cause leaf sheath and bulb harder, more pressure. If the bulb pressure is too large to cause arrow clip, you can use a sharp knife to clip the leaf sheath open 1.5 cm, in order to reduce the pressure of the base of the leaf sheath on the scape, promote the scape.

The causes and solutions of Clivia clip arrows:

1 fertilizer: Clivia to autumn, it turned into reproductive growth period, fertilizer needs to increase, if fertilization is not appropriate, it is not conducive to the scape. Therefore, pay attention to fat adjustment. Generally, after 3 years of Clivia cultivation, it is necessary to increase the number of fertilizers in autumn. It is best to use liquid fertilizer with higher phosphorus content. If necessary, 20% potassium dihydrogen phosphate should be added to promote flower bud differentiation, rapid archery and early flowering.

2 water: water can maintain the normal posture of Clivia plants, and the cells and tissues in the body contain sufficient water to carry out normal physiological activities. If Clivia is short of water, it cannot shoot flowers, and the leaves will dry up, wither, droop and roll. Therefore, when shooting arrows, we should break the conventional watering method of seeing wet and seeing dry, increase the watering amount appropriately, and never let the pot soil dry thoroughly, otherwise it will cause arrows and affect flowering.

3 temperature regulation: Clivia growth optimum temperature is 15℃-25℃, below 15℃, it is difficult to sprout flowering. If the false bulb of Clivia is found to bulge, the newly grown leaves appear arrow path (refers to the flower bud differentiation of Clivia, the flower bud begins to sprout, the newly grown leaves are squeezed by the flower bud trace), this is the sign of archery, at this time should pay attention to adjust the temperature, so that the daytime reaches 25℃, at night control at 15℃, so that the temperature difference is maintained at 10℃, archery is easier.

4 Decompression: Because the pressure of leaf sheath and false bulb is too large, the arrow scape is clamped inside and cannot escape, which is another reason for arrow clamping. If this happens, a sterile razor blade can be used to cut open the leaf sheath of the scapes by 1.5 cm, relax the pressure of the leaf sheath base on the scapes, and promote the scapes to spring out.
