The orchid "the most fragrant in the world" belongs to the orchid family. Orchidaceae has a total of 650 genera, more than 30,000 species, more hybrid varieties, more than 60,000 have been officially identified, it can be seen that Orchidaceae is a large family.
According to its ecological habits, orchids can be divided into two categories: ground orchids and gas orchids. Traditionally cultivated orchids in China are collectively referred to as "national orchids", such as Chunlan, Cilan, Jianlan, Mulan, etc., with elegant appearance and rich fragrance, which is called ground orchid because it grows directly in the soil. Aerial orchids are mainly attached to trees or rocks in tropical or subtropical forests, with large flowers and beautiful colors, collectively known as "foreign orchids".
Although many flowers are not orchids, they are often called "orchids". There are two reasons for this. First, the leaves of some flowers are similar to those of orchids. Gentleman's orchid, Wenshu orchid, tiger's tail orchid, hanging orchid, temporarily orchid (spider grabs egg) onion orchid, freesia, lily of the valley (gladiolus), tequila, crane orchid, flower leaf lily (daffodil) rice top orchid (hundred branch lotus) and so on. Second, some flowers, such as golden millet orchid (magnolia) and rice orchid, are also named "orchid" because of their pleasant fragrance, similar to orchid fragrance.
