When raising orchids, we need to use flower soil with strong permeability and high fertility. If epiphytic orchids are raised, it is recommended to use a mixture of vegetable garden soil and rotten bark. If the orchid is cultivated, it is recommended to use the flower soil made of six parts of rotten leaf soil, three parts of red soil and one part of fine river sand.

I. requirements of cultivated soil

1. Strong permeability: the permeability here has two meanings. The first refers to the ability to drain water. The roots of orchids are relatively weak and are afraid of waterlogging. If the drainage of flower soil is not good, it is easy to make it waterlogged. The second refers to the ability to breathe. Because its root system needs a certain amount of air to grow normally, if the flower soil is hardened, there are too few gaps, and it is easy to have shrunken roots.

2. High fertility: its demand for nutrients is very high. Therefore, we can not use too barren flower soil to maintain it, otherwise it is easy to make it grow poorly. Soil with more nutrients and high humus content should be used to raise it, so as to ensure that it can get enough nutrients for growth.

Second, the method of preparation

1. You can prepare some clean vegetable garden soil and the same amount of rotten bark, and mix them evenly to make the necessary flower soil. This kind of soil is suitable for epiphytic orchids.

2. The flower soil made of six parts of rotten leaf soil, three parts of red soil and one part of fine river sand can be used. This kind of soil is more suitable for orchid production.
