Many flower friends often use the method of sowing when cultivating flowers, but some flower friends will find that the seeds are dead and can no longer germinate if they are not sown in time. So what factors will affect the lifespan of flower seeds?

Camellia

I. Flower varieties

The structure and thickness of seed coat of different varieties of flowers are different.

Second, the integrity of the seed coat.

The intact seed coat can prevent the passage of oxygen and water, keep the seed dormant and maintain its life.

III. Environmental conditions

Fully dried seeds can withstand higher and lower temperatures. When the temperature is high, the lack of water in seeds will also prevent their physiological activities, avoid and reduce the consumption of seed nutrients. But excessive drying can also make seeds lose their germinating power. Low temperature can inhibit seed respiration and prolong its life. It is generally better to store under the condition of non-direct sunlight at the temperature of 1 to 5 ℃.
