In 2001, in response to Taiwan's accession to the WTO, attention was paid to the activation and transformation of rural areas, and the Council of Agriculture put forward the development direction of "one township, one leisure agricultural and fishing park". Xu Zhixiong felt that this was an opportunity, so he returned to Shangde Village in Yuanshan in 2001 to rebuild the "Shengyang Leisure Farm," and the leisure farm was put on file and approved by the Council of Agriculture in 2005.

Innovation and change, from leisure farm to aquatic plant exhibition hall

Since it is a leisure farm, over the years, Xu Zhixiong and his family have developed various leisure and experience activities, such as ecological interpretation, aquatic cuisine, environmentally friendly moss ball DIY, ecological bottle DIY, symbiosis of fish and vegetables, peeling of fish feet, children's water war zone, and so on.

And some of the activity elements also come from the memory of childhood play. For example, Shengyang's popular "water plant bottle DIY", Hsu Chih-hsiung says, is inspired by taking glass bottles to the stream or water channel to catch shrimp when he was a child, replacing the well-known soy milk glass bottles in member Mountain, combined with the characteristics of the farm. And Yuanshan health soy milk also has a story. In order to increase the protein intake of rural residents, early agricultural administrative units set up processing demonstration plants in several peasant associations, and Yuanshan peasant association soy milk processing is an example. Yuanshan Peasant Association soy milk, which was founded in 1964, is still loved by Ilan people today, and sometimes wedding banquets and gifts are health-preserving soy milk.

Ecological bottle DIY

The commentator jokingly said, "this is Yuanshan Health Soy Milk, which was founded in 1953." After drinking soy milk, the bottles are cleaned and filled with water, and then the goldfish algae, Hokkaido algae balls, shells and shell sand prepared by the farm are filled with bottles, which are ecological bottles full of environmental protection and local flavor. The commentator said his biggest problem was that "sometimes some people dare not drink soy milk and have to help drink it. If they drink three bottles in a morning, their stomach will be overfull."

Sure enough, the "eco-friendly bottle DIY" combined with soya-bean milk bottles won the first place in the Agricultural experience DIY Group of the 4th "creativity Competition of the Republic of China Leisure Agriculture and Fisheries Park". After finishing the eco-bottle, visitors can have free time to walk on the fish fish trail, enjoy the scenery and distant mountain haze, or take off socks to feel the small fish help you peel your feet. Children are often ticklish and want to be bitten by fish, and there have been exclamations and screams; in summer, children love to play in the water, and fish ponds can also be turned into mini pools, two rows of water pumps, just for children to fight water battles. Adults and children here, can have their own corner.

It is not only an Ilan house, but also an exhibition hall of aquatic plant culture.

The "Shengyang Aquatic Plant Culture Exhibition Hall" is an eye-catching landmark on the farm, and it is also the 12th Ilan house. It was originally intended as a living space for the whole family, but it also unexpectedly extends to the compound use of the aquatic plant culture center and the home. The Water Plant Culture Exhibition Hall, designed by architect Cheng Shaozhengtao, is located on the fish pond. The clear water model is the main body of the building. The horizontal lines are integrated with the surrounding fish ponds. The clear water model no longer has paint and bricks, thus reducing the production of construction waste materials. Because the roof is horizontal, the roof will be turned into a water grassland after collecting water, and there will be one more layer of "cold water insulation". In response to the government's green energy policy in 2016, solar panels have been added to the roof to collect heat and store electricity, and the second layer of thermal insulation has also been used.
