How to reproduce the magnolia, the magnolia can be propagated by cuttings, ramets and striping, and the mode of operation is not difficult. Here are the operation steps of the three propagation methods of magnolia.

How do Magnolia propagate?

1. The method of cutting propagation

The cutting time of Magnolia can be carried out in spring, plum rainy season and autumn.

Generally, before sprouting in spring, first cut the sturdy annual branches and make cuttings about 15 cm long, which can take root and survive about 50 days after insertion. Cut plum in the rainy season, take sturdy, full semi-mature branches to make cuttings, cover 60% of the sun, 70% of the sun, and keep the environment moist, which can take root and survive after 3-4 weeks. The autumn insertion is carried out after the end of the flowering period from August to September, select the part above the middle of the annual branch after the last flower, cut the growing section of 3-4 nodes as cuttings, cover it with plastic film to moisturize, and cover 60% of the sun, 70% of the sun, and take 15-20 days to take root and survive. The growth potential of the new plant survived by cutting is much stronger than that of the new plant propagated by ramet, and the general young plant can blossom after 2-3 years cultivation.

2. The method of ramet propagation

The ramet propagation of Magnolia can be carried out in combination with turning pots from March to April every year.

First of all, the full pot of plants will be poured out, and the potential will be divided into several clumps from the weak point of root combination. There are as many root groups as possible in each clump, and the upper leaves need to be cut off for a long time in order to survive and restore growth. And then plant them separately.

3. The method of striping propagation

The striping method of the magnolia can be carried out from April to June every year. First, the branches are pressed to the ground or basin surface, and they take root in about 40-50 days. When the magnolia takes root enough, it can be separated from the mother plant, and then as long as the flower friends plant separately.
