Changing pots is a job of maintaining orchids. Usually, potted orchids are turned over once every two years. Because at this time, the nutrients in the basin are almost consumed, and the orchid plants are numerous, the roots are too dense, the new roots have no room to stretch, and the old roots remain in the basin, probably infected with germs. So changing pots is a must, how to change pots, how to water? Now let me introduce you:

How to transplant the pot:

Step 1: Dry the orchids before transplanting. If the growing material is dry, the following steps are much simpler. If it is a plastic pot, gently rub the pot and the roots of the orchid will break away from the pot wall. Then carefully remove the bulbs from the pot, just leaving the original planting material behind.

Step 2: all dead or rotted roots should be sheared off with shears. Healthy roots feel strong and diseased roots are soft and colorless. The outermost ring of the root is easily detached from the inner layer. It is not a simple matter to break the root in a pot-changing transplant, as long as the inner layer of the root is intact.

How to water:

After planting, put it in shade shed, spray it on leaf surface in the morning and evening, irrigate enough root fixing water after 24 hours, and switch to normal management after 15 days.

Note that the pot soil is 70% dry, that is, not too dry but not too wet soil, 24 hours after transplanting irrigation root water, this can avoid orchids due to bacterial disturbance caused by its decay and death.

If the soil is very dry and does not have any moisture, it can be watered immediately after changing the pot, but it should be noted that in the next 15-20 days, watering should be less than usual, and after 20 days or so, orchids can adapt to the new situation and then water normally.

When watering orchids, you can choose a watering can with a long neck and a fine hole to water them until the bottom of the flowerpot flows out of the water and then stops watering like this, which can ensure that the soil is watered evenly and is very good for the growth of roots.

Orchids usually watering can not be more, keep orchid soil is a wet state, that is, moist dry, orchid soil if it has been in a wet state is easy to rot roots, plant materials to maintain water permeability, pots can not have ponding, other, orchids to avoid direct sunlight, placed in a ventilated place can see light.
