Orchids must be in fresh air in order to carry out various physiological activities normally, so as to make the plants grow healthily. Therefore, good ventilation is a necessary condition for raising orchids.

Ventilation of orchid grounds and shade sheds

The site should be as spacious as possible, and in the high place, the flower bed can be made of bricks and stones, or the empty flowerpot can be put upside down and put on the orchid pot, so that the orchid pot is 20 cm to 40 cm away from the ground, especially in places with poor ventilation, the orchid pot should be put as high as possible, and the shade shed uses bamboo curtains and hedges with low price and good quality, and good ventilation.

Ventilation in orchid room

Houses, enclosed plastic sheds or glass sheds, especially those heated by coal, should open the windows or open the film every day when the indoor temperature exceeds 10 ℃. If the room is closed on all sides in winter, it should also be ventilated with an electric fan when the temperature is high at noon.

The temperature of the greenhouse is generally high and low, so the air inlet should be in the lower part, while the air outlet is in the upper part, the ventilation speed is fast, and the removal of harmful gases is more thorough. Pay attention to ventilation while cooperating with water spraying, deal with the relationship among ventilation, heat preservation and moisturizing, and prevent cold wind from blowing directly.

The density of orchid pots placed indoors should be sparse and not dense. Keep enough distance. If the area is narrow, the flower bed can be built into a ladder. Should pay attention to often wash the surface of the orchid basin with water, and spray the front and back of the orchid leaves to ensure that the stomata are smooth.

Ventilation of orchid pots and potted soil

(1) the orchid basin should use the tile basin with high tube, high foot, thin wall and strong air permeability, and the orchid basin with porous wall and bottom can also be selected.

(2) the plant material or basin soil should be delaminated. If basin soil is used, the basin bottom hole can be covered with 2 or 3 small bricks, covered with 3 cm thick lump charcoal, and then filled with mixed soil of rotten humus and river sand. Add a layer of 3 cm thick burnt slag to the basin height, and then cover it with mixed soil to the edge of the basin, so that the orchid basin has an environment in which gas can flow easily.

(3) the number of plants planted in each pot should not be too much. if there are many plants and dense leaves, they should be turned over and planted in time, and the weeds, diseased leaves and dead leaves in the orchid pot should be removed frequently to facilitate ventilation.
