The Council of Agriculture held the "Taiwan Sakya New South orientation and emerging Market Marketing Media Conference" at the Taitung Peasants' Association yesterday (10), chaired by Chen Tianshou, vice chairman, with a view to strengthening the supply chain of Sakya industry through the media meeting. and declare our determination to expand new southward access to countries and emerging markets. County Mayor Rao Qingling led Deputy County Mayor Zhang Zhiming to participate, and expressed the hope that the Council of Agriculture would assist Taitung Sakya in marketing, increase the freight charges for subsidized exports, expand new southern orders to the state, and prove the future.

Chen Tianshou, deputy chairman, said that the cultivated area of Sakya in Taiwan is about 5500 hectares, with an annual output of nearly 60, 000 metric tons. Taitung County is the main producing area, accounting for 95% of the cultivated area in China. Sakya, a large-order species, is deeply loved by the Chinese people and is mainly sold domestically. Pineapple Sakya takes the export route more than 10, 000 metric tons from January to October, with an export value of US $28.83 million, making it one of the major export fruits in China. Due to the lack of tolerance to storage and transportation of Sakya fresh fruit and the restrictions of quarantine conditions in Japan and South Korea, the export market is currently concentrated in Chinese mainland.

In order to expand emerging markets, the Council of Agriculture has coached export operators to develop emerging markets in Malaysia since 107. since 109, it has further expanded its target markets to include new southward countries such as Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. It is expected to open up new channels and effectively disperse the risk of current market concentration. It is also hoped that through the establishment of Sakya's export platform, it can mediate with Sakya's industrial producing areas supplying farmers, producing area farmers' associations, Taiwan vegetable and fruit export trade associations and relevant export operators, so that consumers at home and abroad can taste Taiwan's high-quality agricultural products together. it is also expected to achieve the goal of making farmers feel at ease and stabilize the income of Sakya farmers.
