The documentary series "Vision in the Countryside" is in its final episode, and since 2015 in Japan, we have visited Germany, the Netherlands, Indonesia and the United States. After filming several foreign cases, we began to look back at Taiwan, and some of them timidly wondered whether Taiwan could also set a good example. After considering whether to balance the east, west, north and south, whether it is a large and small farmer or a young farmer, and whether the vision of the case is high enough and sustainable enough. After consulting around Taiwan, we finally decided to settle on the pool, a place where we no longer have to advertise for them.

In 2016, we were "undercover" at the Rural Competition of the second phase of rice farming in Chi Shang, and accosted several farmers who "don't know why we're here." these farmers are in their 30s to nearly 60 years old, and their farming areas range from 3 to 17, with farming methods ranging from customary, organic and natural farming methods. With a record of nearly 30 shooting days, we try to understand why people in the pool are becoming more and more proud of their hometown from the aspects of production, sales, and system by participating in the first phase of the rice planting process.

Public TV _ foresight in Rural areas _ second season _ Chishang Township, Taitung County is always "on-the-job study"

How did the rice on the pool be cultivated into a "rice LV"? The continuous improvement of "on-the-job education" of rice farmers on the pool for more than 20 years is the key.

Since the 1990s, in order to encourage the improvement of rice quality, various refresher courses have been held by the township government offices, farmers' associations and rice mills in the pool to provide farmers on the pool to participate. They also entrust the academic circles to bring into the concept of "standard operating procedures" of enterprises, hoping to implement the field management technology of farmers. They set out a standard production process: when farmers transplant rice seedlings, when to weed, when to spray and fertilize, and how many pesticides and fertilizers to use.

Then, in order to cope with the impact of WTO and enhance the competitiveness of farmers in the pond, Chi began to cooperate with MOA in 1994 to introduce and learn organic farming, which laid a good foundation for the later concept of organic rice area and sustainable land use.
