Cinnabar orange, like sugar orange, is also a popular citrus with high economic value, and it is very popular as an ornamental pot plant. So how to grow cinnabar oranges? Let's get to know it with the editor.

1. Rootstock breeding

The rootstocks used to cultivate cinnabar orange are Fructus Aurantii, medlar rafters, red lemon, four-season orange, sour orange and so on. Cutting propagation is generally used to cultivate rootstock seedlings, first of all, select 1-2-year-old branches with sufficient nutrient accumulation in August-September, cut them into 15-20 cm long, cut them into a slope, remove the lower leaves, leave 2-3 pieces in the upper part, soak the base in rooting powder, and then cut them. After the new shoots are ripe, they can be divided into beds to the field to cultivate robust rootstock seedlings.

2. Grafting

Small buds are mostly used for grafting, and the grafting effect is the best in winter and spring. The rootstock should be trimmed and properly watered one week before grafting to make the sap flow exuberantly so as to improve the survival rate of grafting. The young buds germinated on the rootstock should be erased in time, and after the first shoot aging, short pruning should be carried out combined with shaping, and can be unbound to promote the growth of secondary branches in order to cultivate a good crown.

3. Upper basin

Potting is the key link, try to choose the crown is round, branches thick leaf green, root developed seedlings on the pot, the seedling pot should also be determined according to the size of the seedlings. Before putting on the basin, cover the drainage hole of the basin bottom with a small tile to avoid mud leakage and facilitate drainage and ventilation. The cultivation medium should be loose and breathable, with strong water and fertility conservation. After potting, the soil cover is just over the original soil surface of the seedling, and after planting, it is drenched with fixed root water, which is very beneficial to the plant.

4. Turn the basin

Turning the basin is also one of the main cultivation measures, which is generally carried out after the autumn shoot is mature every year, and a number of new roots can still grow before winter, and the soil needs to be slightly dry before turning the basin to avoid dripping water to avoid root breakage. When turning the basin, use a stick to top the hole at the bottom of the basin, lift the seedling or buckle it upside down, and then the original plant is planted in a larger basin.
