In order to maintain orchids during the flowering period, it is necessary to pay close attention to the changes and effects of light, temperature, water and fertilizer.

1. When is the florescence

The flowering period of orchid varieties is uninterrupted between 12 months of a year, but there is a difference in flowering time among different varieties. The more common spring orchids blossom from January to March, Cymbidium blossoms from March to May, Jianlan blossoms from May to October, Han orchids bloom from November to January, and ink orchids bloom from December to February for 12 months.

2. Florescence and climate

The climate has a great impact on the flowering period, generally hiding before the rainy season, when it is the late dry season, insects will vigorously spread pollen and avoid flowers from being damaged by overcast and rain.

3. Flowering maintenance

The maintenance during the flowering period is very important, during the daily watering to avoid water invading into the bract caused by rot, after breaking buds to control water. Usually spray more water mist to improve the air humidity, and put the orchids in a ventilated environment to receive sunlight.

4. Pruning and removing buds

If there are too many buds irrigated on the plant branches, they should be properly removed to ensure the full use of adequate nutrition during the flowering period. If the scape appears in the culture process, it should be cut off in time, otherwise it will consume nutrients and affect germination.
