How to water orchids indoors?
Indoor orchid cultivation is the most common way of orchid cultivation at present. The author now provides the experience of indoor orchid water management to orchid lovers.
First, the watering method is determined according to the variety of orchids and the robust degree of orchid seedlings. For example: indoor cultivation of Chunlan, Jianlan robust seedlings, can be used to soak the basin-based water method. If the famous products of Chunlan are mainly cultivated in tile pots, the water methods of soaking pots and spraying soil on the surface of orchid basins should be selected. If it is the seedlings of orchids, weak seedlings, or valuable varieties, it is more appropriate to use fine spray.
Water for soaking basin: it is chosen after sunset in summer and at midnight or 6 o'clock in the morning in hot heat, because the air temperature at this time is similar to the water temperature, the root system of orchid is still in a relaxed state after a period of leisure, and it is not easy to produce too much stagnant water in the root of orchid after soaking in the basin. In addition, it is the photosynthesis season of orchids in the morning, and its roots can absorb oxygen under such a favorable condition, which can inhibit the cultivation of harmful microorganisms. Soak the basin every 3 to 5 days, but the specific situation should be analyzed.
Immersion basin plus spray water: 2 to 3 days after soaking basin, spray to wet the soil on the surface of orchid basin every day, so that orchids can grow under neither dry nor too wet conditions, this method is more conducive to the growth of orchid roots.
Water for fine spray: this method is suitable for environments where temperature and humidity are relatively stable, especially for orchid seedlings, weak seedlings or valuable varieties. The use of hand-held, automatic sprayer spray, resulting in a smoky effect, is conducive to the cultivation of orchid seedlings or leaf art and other valuable varieties.
Second, watering orchids should be careful, careful and careful. The leaves and flowers of orchids are barometers reflecting water conditions. good water management shows that orchids have bright leaves, smooth leaves, clear veins and strong and luxuriant plants. When and how much water orchids should be watered, and so on, which requires orchids breeders to be careful, careful and careful in the process of watering orchids, that is, carefully observing the dry and wet soil on the surface of orchids, seizing the opportunity, watering carefully; carefully check the leaves and color of orchids, and even the growth of orchids, prescribe the right medicine in time and adjust the amount of water of orchids; for different varieties of orchids, the amount of water should be scientifically controlled, not across the board.
Third, water the orchids and keep the water clean. It is appropriate to use non-polluting water such as springs, wells or streams with a pH value of about 7. If tap water spraying is used, it must be precipitated for 2 days before it can be used. Water that has been stored for too long is generally not used to avoid orchid diseases.
