Propagation methods of White Palm
White palm is a new generation of indoor potted plants in recent years. It is distributed in all parts of our country, has a high ornamental value, and is welcomed by many people. Therefore, the planting area in our country is also very large, and when we plant white palm, we need to pay attention to the breeding work. So how do white palms reproduce? The following editor brings you the breeding method of white palm, let's have a look!
1. Ramet propagation
In general, the ramet propagation of white palm can be carried out all the year round, but we should pay attention to avoid the period of high temperature and low temperature. And it is best to be able to do it in March-May, when the survival rate needs to be high. First, select a two-year-old high-quality plant, and then dig up the plant completely in early spring when the plant shoots. Clean the soil from the roots and trim the roots properly. Then cut the rhizome from the base of the plant cluster, leaving about 3 leaves in each cluster, not to hurt the root. Then the separated plants can be planted directly to maintain a semi-shady environment, and attention should be paid to properly loosening the soil to improve soil permeability.
2. Sowing and reproduction
First of all, artificial pollination is needed for sowing and reproduction, and then seed collection is done. Before sowing, the soil should be exposed and disinfected to eliminate germs and pests in the soil. Then soak the seeds in warm water of about 40 degrees for about 12 hours, then fish them out to dry and sow them. The main sowing method is hole sowing, which is covered with a layer of fine soil after sowing, and the temperature is controlled at about 26 degrees. About four weeks or so can germinate, but we must pay attention to control the temperature, if the temperature is too low, the seeds are extremely perishable. However, because the seed of white palm is more difficult to obtain, and it takes about three years to blossom, it is not often used to sow and reproduce.
3. Tissue culture
Tissue culture is widely used in large-scale reproduction. Mainly through the stem tip, leaves and other explants of white palm to propagate. First, soak the explants of white palm in alcohol for about half a minute, and then soak in a liter of mercury for ten minutes for disinfection. The callus and adventitious buds could be produced in about 40 days after it was put into MS nutrient solution. Then use hormone to induce rooting, after rooting for about a month, when the height reaches about two centimeters to refine the seedlings to improve the adaptability of the seedlings. Finally, the substrate was made of fine sand and perlite for transplanting.
The above is a brief introduction to the breeding method of white palm. When breeding, we should choose the appropriate breeding method of geese according to their own planting scale, planting methods and other actual conditions. That's all for today's introduction.
