Rhizoma Polygonatum is one of the bulk traditional Chinese medicine in China, and with the increase of market demand for it and the reduction of wild resources, wild Polygonatum has been far from meeting the market demand, and now it is gradually carried out artificial cultivation. However, the seed propagation now used has the problems of long growth cycle and low seed germination, so is there any way to improve the germination rate of Polygonatum seed? Let's take a look.

1. Seed collection and storage

The ripe Polygonatum fruit was collected in late October, and the seeds were taken out and now the seeds are high in plumpness, disease-free and more than 0.25 cm in diameter. Mix the seeds and wet sand evenly, keeping their ratio at 1RU 3.5. The humidity of the wet sand is close to being clutched and scattered by hand, then dig a hole in the leeward and mix the seeds and wet sand with oats. The pit dug during storage must be 35 cm deep, and there should be an isolation layer at the bottom of the pit, so as to prevent seeds from sprouting during storage. A vermiculite layer of 3 cm thick can be spread at the bottom of the pit, and then a layer of sand of 4 cm can be spread on the bottom of the pit. Then use castor leaves, Tripterygium wilfordii leaves, Tripterygium wilfordii bark, waste secondary tobacco leaves, Chinese wolfberry leaves to cover a 5 cm thick plant layer in the sand layer.

2. Seed germination

When preparing for sowing, first take out the stored mixture, break the shell with mechanical grinding, and then put the polished seed and sand mixture into the foam box together. Keep the suitable humidity at about 78%, control the temperature at about 4 degrees, cultivate for 4 hours, then adjust the temperature to 12 degrees for 12 hours, then adjust the temperature to 20 degrees for 8 hours, and finally adjust the temperature to 30 degrees for 12 hours. After such a change in temperature to germinate, the seeds can be sown.

3. Cultivate seedlings

Before sowing, the seedling substrate can be prepared with the proportion of 5 parts of humus, 2 parts of river sand and 2 parts of coconut bran, and then the germinated seeds are sown on the seedling substrate, and the temperature is controlled at about 28 degrees and the humidity is about 85%. At the same time, shading production should be carried out in shade sheds, and not only can sprouts be pulled every 10 days.

The above is how to improve the germination rate of Polygonatum seed, hope to help you, want to know more related knowledge, please pay attention to us.
