Breeding techniques of Meat Duck in Winter
With the arrival of winter, the temperature is getting lower and lower, and the impact of low temperature environment on the growth of meat ducks is very large. Therefore, it is very important to raise meat ducks in winter if they are not properly managed in winter. Then it will lead to weight loss of meat ducks, various problems, and even death in serious cases. So how do you raise meat ducks in winter? The following small series brings you the breeding technology of meat duck. Let's have a look together!
1, cold and warm
Meat duck as a waterfowl, in fact, its cold resistance is relatively strong. However, if it is a duckling, because the physiological properties are not perfect, so its cold resistance is still relatively poor. To maintain the temperature to be able to grow normally, after entering winter, the temperature of the ducklings three days before breaking the shell should be maintained at about 30 degrees, and then every four days to reduce the temperature until the temperature stabilizes at about 20 degrees. If the temperature is too low during brooding, ducklings will appear fighting, piling and stunting. And the ducklings at the bottom of the pile may also suffocate because they are squeezed, so we must control the temperature and take appropriate insulation measures.
2. Duck house inspection
Before the ducklings enter the duck house, we must first conduct a comprehensive inspection of the duck house. To check the doors, windows, etc. for damage, and then walls and roofs for holes, will not leak, etc. If this is the case, then pay attention to timely repair. All the places that will leak air and water should be repaired. If the duck house is heated with coal, then a good chimney must be set up to exhaust soot from the house. There must be no soot left in the shed, otherwise the duck will have a high chance of poisoning. Then every time you go in and out of the duck house, you should pay attention to closing the door tightly to avoid the invasion of thieves.
3. Maintenance of duck house
In the winter cold snap is coming, be sure to repair the duck house, thickened roof, doors and windows hang a good windshield, etc. And pay attention to covering both sides of the duck house wall, then spread the appropriate amount of sand on the ground, and keep the vent in a state that can be controlled manually. Then as the duck ages, after the pen is expanded, heating lamps can be installed in the duck house. Generally every ten square meters or so, the height is maintained at about coix. Ensure that the duck can be heated normally. There is no limit to the density of heating lamps, which is mainly determined according to environmental conditions, temperature and other factors.
4. Windproof ventilation
In winter, we should pay attention to prevent draft, thief wind, etc. in the duck house to avoid blowing directly on the meat duck. This led to a sharp drop in the temperature of meat ducks, resulting in colds and other phenomena. If the ducklings are drinking in winter, then keep the water temperature at a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius. But at the same time of windbreak and heat preservation, we should also do a good job of ventilation. If the ventilation is poor, the air quality in the duck house will become extremely poor, and the content of harmful gases such as ammonia will also increase, causing serious harm to the growth of meat ducks. Therefore, everyone must pay more attention.
The above is a simple introduction to winter duck breeding technology. Today's introduction is here, this article is for reference only, I hope to help everyone oh!
