In order to make flowers bloom timely according to the needs of people, it is necessary to adjust the environmental conditions and their own growth process on the basis of mastering the law of growth and development of all kinds of flowers. There are four commonly used technical measures:

(1) temperature treatment

1. Heating treatment. For some flowers that can form flower buds under high temperature, such as rose, jasmine, Milan, melon leaf chrysanthemum, paulownia and so on, as long as they are heated in advance, they can bloom as scheduled when they need to bloom. Flowers that are dormant and overwintering but whose flower buds have been formed, such as peony and rhododendron, can blossom ahead of time after experiencing frost and snow, moving to the room and gradually heating up to keep room temperature at 20 ℃ and 25 min, and often spray.

2. Low temperature treatment. Mostly used for dormant flowers in the winter. If the azaleas are not allowed to blossom in early spring, they are placed in a 2Mui 5 ℃ cold room and watered every 10 days until they are taken out in mid-September, they can open on National Day.

(2) Light treatment 1. Short day treatment. This method can make short-day plants blossom ahead of time, such as chrysanthemum, poinsettia, swallow begonia, leaf flower and so on. After growing healthily, this kind of flowers will cover the whole plant with black cloth (or black paper) and give only 10 hours of light to 8mi every day. After this treatment, they can blossom in advance after 50-60 days.

2. Long daylight treatment. The use of long-day treatment can make short-day plants inhibit flowering, such as late chrysanthemum varieties before their flower bud differentiation (mid-September), 40 W fluorescent lamp (60 cm away from the plant) for 6 hours a day, at room temperature 20 ℃, it can be delayed to New Year's Day flowering; conversely, long-sunshine flowers can bloom in advance, such as dahlia after winter cutting, supplementary light to 22:00 every day, it can bloom after 130 days.

(3) the flowers treated with plant growth regulators can blossom ahead of time.

(4) cultivation measures use all kinds of flowers in different periods of sowing, cutting, pruning, heart picking and other measures to control the flowering period, these methods are very effective for some flowers. If Gladiolus is planted in stages, it can blossom in four seasons; and if a bunch of red flowers adopt heart-picking measures, it can delay flowering for more than 20 days; late chrysanthemum varieties pick hearts from July 1 to 5, which can blossom before and after National Day, and so on.
