The rotten leaves of Cymbidium may be due to sunburn and leaf yellowing caused by too strong light, or it may be due to the burning of roots caused by too much fertilization, which affects the growth of orchids from the roots and makes the leaves rotten. The high temperature and humidity caused by plum rain in summer can also easily lead to rotten leaves, or it may be due to excessive watering leading to stagnant water in the roots.

1. The light is too strong

If the gentleman orchid is exposed to strong light for a long time, it will not only make the leaves lose luster, become soft and wilt, but also sunburn the leaves, causing macula and even the whole leaf to dry and rot, so we must do a good shade in summer. If the leaves turn yellow, you can cut off the yellow leaves and urge the leaves again.

2. Excessive fertilization

If the fertilization is too high and the concentration is too high, it is easy to cause root burning, the leaves begin to rot from the base, spread to the upper part, and in serious cases, all the leaves will rot away. This situation requires timely de-potting and root washing and re-cultivation and maintenance after changing the soil.

3. The humidity is too high

During the summer plum rain period, the humidity is too high, high temperature and high humidity will wither and mildew the leaf tip and weaken its resistance to disease. if it is not ventilated, it is easy to make the leaves mildew and even cause diseases and insect pests. in this case, plants should be sprayed with carbendazim solution. and do a good job of ventilation, keep the basin soil dry.

4. Overwatering

Too much watering will also affect the growth of Magnolia. Stagnant water in the root causes root rot, and the leaves begin to rot and blacken from the base. in this case, the orchid should be dug out and cut off the rotting root, disinfect and dry the wound, and then put it back on the pot.

5. The temperature is too high

When the summer temperature is too high, the growth rate of Cymbidium will slow down. Many people may not know that when the temperature reaches 30 ℃, fertilization or watering will cause rotten roots and leaves. It is necessary to lower the temperature in time to make it grow normally.
