1. Deep ploughing and land preparation

The suitable season for cotton planting is winter and spring, so it is also the best season for deep ploughing and soil preparation in winter and spring. Under normal circumstances, winter ploughing works better than spring ploughing. Because the depth of winter ploughing is slightly deeper, usually around 25cm. In the case of spring ploughing, the distance is usually only about 15 cm. However, no matter whether it is winter ploughing or spring ploughing, we must do a good job in fine land preparation after deep ploughing. The soil should be made into a state of deficiency and softness, and it is necessary to ensure that the soil has good water and moisture conservation.

2. Apply sufficient base fertilizer

After doing a good job of deep ploughing and soil preparation, we should apply sufficient base fertilizer to the soil. Improve soil fertility and adjust soil structure. When applying base fertilizer, we should control the application amount according to the cotton variety, yield and the original quality of the soil. 3. Pour the bottom water.

In addition to applying adequate base fertilizer, we also need to pour sufficient bottom water according to the climate change in the planting area. And to make a good mouth moisture in the cotton field, which is also the main measure to ensure that cotton can be sown on time, comprehensive and strong seedlings. When filling bottom water, winter irrigation should be the main time in winter. If spring irrigation is needed, it should be done after the soil is thawed every spring. At the latest, irrigation should be completed two weeks before sowing, which can promote the recovery of low temperature and improve the strong seedling rate of the whole seedling.

4. Plastic film medicament

After sowing, we have to cover the plastic film according to the actual situation. Under normal circumstances, a mu of cotton field needs to cover about 5 jin of plastic film, if it is a single-row planting plot, then the width of plastic film should be kept at about 60cm. If double-row planting, then the width of plastic film should be controlled at about 90-100cm.
