Amorphophallus is a kind of perennial herb of Araceae, which is common in the south of China. Sea taro is highly ornamental, can produce a unique landscape, and can maintain the balance between carbon dioxide and oxygen, and has a purifying effect on the air. Therefore, the planting area of sea taro is also relatively large. So when planting sea taro, how to reproduce? Today, the editor has brought you the breeding method of sea taro. Let's have a look!

1. Cuttage propagation

The stem of sea taro is very developed, so cutting propagation is a common propagation method of sea taro. First of all, we should choose a sea taro plant with longer growth years as the mother plant. Then, in every spring, a branch with strong growth, free from diseases and insect pests and wounds was selected as cuttings on the mother plant. The length of the branch is kept around 10cm, and after a simple disinfection, it can be cut directly into the soil. Then do a good job of management and transplant when it grows to about 4 true leaves.

2. Sowing and reproduction

Sea taro generally has seeds in the process of growth, so it can also be sown and propagated. Generally speaking, the sowing method is mainly broadcast by strip or on demand. On-demand needs to sow the seeds evenly into the planting hole, and then cover a layer of fine soil. Spray water properly with a spray can, and then cover the sunshade net. After sowing to before emergence, the soil should be kept in a moist state, not too dry and too wet. The sunshade net should be properly opened every morning and evening to make it ventilated. After the seedlings are unearthed, remove the sunshade net and transplant when the seedlings grow to about 4 true leaves.

3. Bulbous propagation

Bulb propagation first needs to dig out the bulbs from the root of the sea taro. The bulbs are classified according to the weight of the bulbs, generally more than two grams are first class, and the following are two grades. Then, before the bulbs are sown, the land is leveled and deeply ploughed, and the beds are prepared for sowing. When sowing, the sowing density should be controlled well, the row spacing of the first-class bulb should be controlled at about 8*20cm, and the second-class bulb can reduce the row spacing properly. The main sowing method is trenching and directional sowing, the sowing depth is kept at about 5cm, and then covered with soil and watered. After watering, herbicide should be sprayed properly, and then the sunshade net should be set up. The management measures of the sunshade net are the same as sowing and breeding.

The above is a brief introduction to the breeding methods of sea taro. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
