The market demand for duck meat in China is very large, in addition to duck meat, the audience of duck eggs is also very large. Therefore, the breeding area of ducks in our country is still very large. Now, as the temperature gets lower and lower, it will gradually enter into winter. On the other hand, the overwintering of ducks in winter requires the attention of farmers. So how can we make sure the ducks survive the winter smoothly? Let's take a look at it with the editor.

1. Strictly control room temperature

Room temperature control is very important if ducks are to spend the winter safely and healthily. When the duck overwinters, the temperature directly affects the survival rate of the duck in winter. The temperature must be kept above 5 degrees at least to allow ducks to survive the winter safely and have a certain yield. After feeding every night, pay attention to keeping the duck shed tightly closed. Outside the duck shed can be surrounded by forage, grain straw and so on, and then cover it with a layer of plastic film, especially pay attention to the cover grass on the roof, its thickness should at least be kept above 5cm.

2. Mat grass feeding

After entering the winter, we should lay at least 30cm of clean bedding grass in the duck house laying area. Straw or straw can be used, so pay attention to keeping the bedding grass dry. Then pick up the eggs every morning. After picking them up, you can spread the old grass in the house. Add the right amount of new grass before the ducks enter the duck house every night. Then we should pay attention to the feeding work, because in winter, laying ducks not only have to be cold-proof, but also have to lay eggs, and the energy consumption is relatively high. Therefore, we should pay attention to properly increase the proportion of energy substances in feed, and then increase sufficient green feeding to supplement vitamins for laying ducks.

3. Night food and hot drinks

Winter is the season of short days and long nights, and the temperature at night is very low. Therefore, we should pay attention to the proper addition of warm feed in the evening, which can not only supplement nutrition for laying ducks, but also improve the cold protection ability of ducks. It is also more beneficial for ducks to lay eggs, so don't notice that night food is mainly high-energy diet. And warm drinking water should be provided at the same time, because ducks consume a lot of heat in winter. When feeding concentrate, you should pay attention to blending with warm water, keep the temperature at about 38 degrees, and never let ducks drink cold water.

4. Artificial supplementary light

In winter, because the daytime is relatively short, the natural light time is not long. Therefore, it will lead to a decrease in the activity of secretory glands in the pituitary gland of ducks, affecting the laying rate of ducks. At this time, we should pay attention to doing a good job of artificial lighting. In general, the lighting time should be kept at least 16 hours a day, and the lights should be turned on every morning and evening to make up the light. According to the survey, compared with no supplementary light, the laying rate can be increased by about 1 × 5. Finally, the feeding density should be properly increased, and the feeding density of ducks should be kept at about 9 per square meter during overwintering.

The above is a brief introduction to how to ensure that ducks survive the winter smoothly. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
