Pig farming is a common farming industry in rural areas, but the costs and profits of different pig farmers are different. If farmers want to earn more income, they should start from the cost of raising pigs and get the maximum profit at the lowest cost. This is what a pig farmer should consider. So what about any reduction in the cost of raising pigs? Let's get to know it.

1. Castration in time

In the process of raising pigs, in order to improve the feed conversion rate and grow faster, it is necessary to be castrated in time. Because of sex hormones, pigs are active and easy to fight, resulting in slow growth and lower feed conversion rate. After castrating the pig, its temperament will be much more docile, easy to manage, and often eat and sleep, so the growth rate is fast, which can greatly improve the feed conversion rate. Castration is usually carried out when piglets are one week old.

2. Establish the feeding method of scientific planning.

According to the development law of slow growth in the early stage, fast growth in the middle stage and slow growth in the later stage, in order to get more and higher feed reward, the feeding method of linear fattening can be adopted to shorten the feeding cycle and save feed. At the same time, fine feeding, rough feeding and green feed should be carried out reasonably, and wet mixing feeding should be carried out when feeding. Adopting the system of three meals a day during daily feeding can reduce repeated feeding to stimulate pig movement, cause unnecessary energy consumption and feed waste, and reduce feed utilization rate.

3. Regular deworming

Parasite infection is the main factor affecting the growth and development of pigs, it is a nutritional wasting disease, many farmers will find that pigs eat a lot every day, but do not gain weight. This is the parasite in the mischief, it absorbs a lot of nutrients, causing pigs to grow slowly, so it is recommended that pig farms need to be dewormed 2-3 times a year. You can choose to carry out deworming in the spring and autumn, when there is a high incidence of parasitism, if the parasite is more serious, you can increase the number of deworming accordingly.

4. Suitable environment

The construction layout of pig houses is reasonable. In the process of breeding, it is necessary to keep the pens dry and hygienic, with good heat dissipation in summer and good warmth in winter, so as to create a favorable condition for the growth and development of pigs, reduce the occurrence of diseases as much as possible, reduce maintenance consumption, and improve feed utilization. The suitable temperature for pig growth is 17-21 degrees Celsius, too high and too low will cause its growth rate to slow down.
