China imported 1609 metric tons of peanut butter last year, ranking first in import, and snacks such as spicy peanuts have been imported for a long time, squeezing the living space of domestic peanuts.

In this regard, the National Peanut Association suggested that the authorities should amend the current import control measures on peanut products, raise import tariffs on peanut butter and peanut sugar, and at the same time increase the proportion of border and market inspection in order to truly stabilize farmers' income. it also ensures the food safety of consumers.

Since Taiwan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 1991, the agricultural market has been liberalized, but peanut crops are highly sensitive.
