The hot summer is coming soon, and many flowers will enter the dormancy period in the hot summer season. at this time, it is very important to create a suitable environment for flowers to avoid the high temperature. otherwise, the high temperature may cause the flowers to die in a short time.

Summer flowering plants

First, cover the bright light

For flowers that are afraid of both high temperature and strong light, such as hanging bell begonia, cyclamen, orchid, etc., proper shading or maintenance under the shade can provide a necessary cool environment for their normal growth and development in summer. If there is no Arbor or no shade shed, you can also use the method of moving into indoor shade to cool down during the day and outdoor to receive dew at night.

Second, sprinkling water to cool down

Sprinkling water and spraying water on the leaves around the site where potted flowers are placed can increase humidity and reduce the temperature. Reduce foliar evaporation, enhance the drought resistance of flowers, and create a cool and humid environment for flowers. When sprinkling water, do not pour cold water on the hot noon or on the potted flowers that have begun to wilt, otherwise, it will easily cause "cold" and accelerate its wilting or death.

Take shelter from the rain in time

There is a lot of rain in summer and it lasts for a long time. The sudden drop in temperature caused by rainfall is easy to damage root hair. The accumulation of water in the basin after rain hinders the respiration of roots, which is easy to cause rotten roots, especially fleshy roots. All flowers that are weak or semi-dormant in midsummer should be placed in shelter, even if they are in the open field, they should be properly covered, and the stagnant water after rain should be eliminated in time.

Fourth, ventilation should be good

The respiration and photosynthesis of flowers must have sufficient fresh air, and ventilation can also reduce the concentration of harmful and toxic gases. Poor ventilation will hinder respiration, affect the normal growth of flowers, and even cause flowers to die gradually. The effect of good ventilation can be achieved by strengthening the ventilation of the site, properly reducing the planting density of the open field flower bed and reasonable shaping and pruning.
