Potted orchid watering must be fastidious, many orchids come to ask me how often orchids are watered? This problem, especially for beginners, is really difficult to grasp. As the old saying goes: raise orchids a little and water them for three years. What kind of plant material you use to raise orchids, what season, what weather, what environment, what varieties of orchids, the watering intervals are all different.

As for how long to water, it is best to water according to the degree of dryness and wetness of the plant. Sometimes it is difficult to judge because the plant on the surface may be dry, but the inside is still wet.

With the help of convenient chopsticks, plastic pipes and other tools, they can be inserted into the plant material. However, the depth varies. Wooden chopsticks can be inserted into plants 10 to 12 centimeters, while plastic pipes need to be embedded with 8-10cm. After five minutes, take them out to see if they are damp to determine whether or not to water them. You can also look at the surface soil.

After the general surface of the soil is white, it is best to wait 1-3 days before pouring. According to personal experience, water is usually watered once a day at the highest temperature in summer; but in cloudy and rainy days, watering times should be reduced, and you can wait until after rainy days; in dry, overheated weather, keep smooth ventilation and water once a day, and in the evening.

In spring and autumn, orchids are usually watered every three to seven days, and orchids enter a dormant period in winter. They are watered every ten to fifteen days. Remember to water them slowly and thoroughly, not on the orchid heart.
