Pigs are very common in our country. When we raise pigs, piglet conservation is very important. We need to adjust piglet management methods reasonably according to seasonal changes. Among them, we need to pay more attention in winter, because the physiological functions of piglets are not very perfect, so it is easy to have many problems. So how do you manage piglets in winter? Let's take a look at it together with Xiaobian below!

1, cold and warm

Piglets are relatively young, so various tissues and organs and functional development are relatively poor. In particular, subcutaneous fat is not thick enough, vulnerable to cold wind intrusion in winter, cold resistance is very poor. Therefore, in winter, we should pay attention to the cold and warm work, and thoroughly inspect the pigsty to prevent air leakage from the hole. Then pay attention to changing the mat frequently and keep the mat in a dry state. If conditions permit, a greenhouse can be built in the pigsty. In winter, piglets can be placed in the greenhouse and the temperature can be adjusted reasonably to ensure that piglets can survive the winter safely.

2. Timely feeding

Sows gradually increase their milk production from about the fifth day after parturition, and reach their highest milk production in the third week. Then it starts to decline at one month, and at one month, it is an accelerated period of piglet growth. If you rely solely on breast milk, it is unable to meet the nutrition required for piglet growth. Therefore, we should properly feed early, not only to provide nutrition for piglets, but also to promote the development of piglet digestive tract. Prevent piglets from eating indiscriminately and reduce morbidity. After a week or so of piglet birth, induction feeding can be started, and then gradually increase the proportion of energy, protein and other nutrients to promote piglet growth.

3. Environmental control

After entering winter, the temperature and humidity of the piglet nursery must be controlled. The temperature should not be too low to prevent piglets from freezing cold. Light bulbs with higher wattage can be hung in the pigsty to provide illumination and ensure temperature. Then, while keeping warm, proper ventilation should be carried out to prevent excessive humidity in the pigsty and cause diseases in piglets. but also can effectively improve the air quality in the pigsty. However, because it is winter, if ventilation is frequent, it will lower the temperature in the pigsty. Therefore, attention must be paid to controlling the relationship between temperature and ventilation.

4. Scientific weaning

The weaning time of piglets is generally 3-4 weeks old, and the feed amount of sows should be gradually reduced five days before weaning. Control the secretion of breast milk, improve the feed intake of piglets, reduce stress reactions. After weaning, the temperature should be kept at about 25 degrees. If the temperature in the pigsty is too low, it will seriously affect the growth of piglets and even lead to death. When feeding, pay attention to the amount of feeding, and feed more in small quantities. When weaning piglets in winter, we must pay more attention.

The above is a brief introduction to winter piglet feeding management. Today's is here, this article is for reference only, I hope to help everyone oh!
