The weather is getting cooler and it is the time to plant winter wheat, when sowing and breeding of winter wheat have begun all over the country, and the seedling stage of wheat is becoming more and more serious because of climate change and the influence of drinking water in cultivation management. So what are the diseases of wheat seedlings? Come and have a look with the editor.

1. Rust

Wheat rust, also known as yellow pox, is the most widespread and harmful disease in wheat production in China, which mainly occurs in leaves, but also harms leaf sheath, stem and spike. The occurrence of different parts, the symptoms are also different, can be identified by "stripe rust into a row of leaf rust, stem rust is a big red spot" to identify. Among them, the optimum temperature of stripe rust is 9-16, leaf rust is 15-22 degrees, stem rust is 18-25, so the general incidence order in production is stripe rust-leaf rust-stem rust.

Prevention and control measures: first of all, varieties with strong disease resistance should be selected, seeds should be mixed with chemicals before sowing to prevent diseases, field management should be strengthened during planting management, reasonable collocation of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, application of sufficient base fertilizer, and cultivation of strong seedlings. Wheat autogenous seedlings are the main oversummer hosts of three kinds of rust. Combined with field management, autogenous wheat seedlings can be eradicated, a large number of oversummer bacteria can be reduced, and the incidence of rust can be reduced.

2. Sheath blight

Also known as small eye spot disease, is a root disease, in the seedlings infected with sheath blight, in the seedling stage will appear rotten buds, diseased seedlings withered and other symptoms.

Control measures: select moderately resistant and disease-tolerant varieties, then economic and easy disease control measures, reasonable crop rotation, strengthen field management, implement wheat and rape, soybean rotation, reduce field bacterial accumulation, reduce sowing rate, control plant density, balance fertilization. The disease should be sprayed in time, and the spraying time should be in the early stage of wheat jointing to prevent the disease from invading the stem.

3. Total erosion disease

Also known as wheat blight and blackfoot, it is also a root disease, but it only infects the root and stem base 1Mel 2 nodes. After the seedling is infected, the plant is short, the lower yellow leaves are many, the seed root and the stem in the ground turn gray-black, and in serious cases, the wheat seedlings die.

Control measures: select varieties with strong disease resistance, reasonable crop rotation, strengthen field management, turn the soil deeply before planting, fine soil preparation, reasonable fertilization, so as to reduce the number of soil layer bacteria, timely intertillage can promote root development. The seeds can be mixed with chemicals before sowing, or before sowing with 50% carbendazim or 70% methyl topiramate 2kg fine soil 20kg 30kg evenly sprinkled on the surface and then rotary tillage.
