As a special breeding project with high economic value, the breeding area of sika deer in China is very large. The whole body of deer is covered with treasures, among which pilose antler is very popular. The production benefit of pilose antler is mainly determined by the production performance of male deer. Therefore, the feeding and management of male deer during antler growing period is very important. So how to manage the antler growing period of male deer? The following editor will give you a brief introduction, let's have a look!

1. Feeding method

After the stag enters the antler stage, we should match the feed reasonably according to the growth cycle of the stag. Among them, the ratio of fine feeding to rough feeding should be strictly controlled, and the proportion of general protein feed should be kept at about 35%. When feeding, it should be based on the principle of timing and quantity, and there should be no excessive fluctuation, otherwise it will have a great impact on the growth of the stag. When we raise deer in captivity, the aim is that the deer can maintain a strong appetite at all times. Prevent the phenomenon of heaping hay or anorexia.

2. Intensive feeding and utilization

When the male deer are fed during the antler-growing period, we should pay attention to the reasonable collocation according to the breed and the number of deer. Should not be single or partial application of some kind of coarse fodder, resulting in male deer growth imbalance, affecting antler production. Concentrate feeding is mainly based on corn, soybean meal and other foods, with the right amount of wheat bran, soybeans and so on. It has to be fed from the antler growing period to the antler harvest period. The feeding amount should be controlled according to the breed, for example, if the adult sika stag is about 2-2.5kg, the adult red buck should be kept at about 3-4.5kg.

3. Rough feeding and utilization

Rough feeding is our commonly used feed, and the amount of feed should be controlled according to the variety and feeding time. When feeding in the morning, if it is a sika deer, it should be controlled at about 2.5 kg, and if it is a sika deer, it can be reduced by about 1.5 kg. The stag eats more at noon, the road needs 4.5kg, and the sika deer needs about 2.5kg. In the evening, we still need to increase the 1kg on the basis of noon. When feeding coarse materials, we should pay attention to the classification and feeding methods. For example, there are many ways, such as whole feeding, crushing feeding, single feeding and so on, which are mainly for the purpose of improving the palatability and utilization rate of feed.

4. Daily management

After entering the antler-growing period, we should raise the stag in groups according to the age of the stag, so that we can reasonably grasp the dietary standard. Then we should adjust the proportion of all kinds of feed according to the habit of the growth stage of pilose antler. Then, when the buck takes off its horns, it is necessary to keep the house quiet and often clean the deer house to create a suitable growth welcome for the stag. In the raw antler, to strengthen prevention, inside and outside the deer house water trough should do a good job of disinfection. 10-16:00 is the best time for domestication, often called during domestication to avoid explosive groups, resulting in injury and reduction of antler production. Then observe the mental state, feces and ruminating. For some weak, sick and disabled stag, it is necessary to raise separately to improve nutrition.

The above is a brief introduction to the breeding and management of male deer during the antler growing period. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
