Insect chicken refers to the use of insects to raise chickens, artificial breeding of some insect larvae as chicken feed. The practical insects raise chickens because chickens usually catch insects to eat, and these insects are generally high protein, nutrient-rich natural feed, very suitable for raising chickens, especially for scattered chicken farming. So now let's learn about insect chicken breeding methods.

1. Artificial breeding

Human breeding common animal feed insects, such as yellow mealworms, chickens often catch earthworms, maggots. Artificial breeding, so as to meet the feeding of chickens. Wheat bran, straw and weeds are generally used to breed insects. Dig pits in dark and damp places, both two meters long and two meters wide, and spread straw and straw 30 centimeters thick inside. Sprinkle urine fertilizer on the grass, then seal it with soil, pour some rice washing water and the like every day. After a while, they grow bugs.

2, breeding environment

Bug chickens are generally raised in the forest, you can choose trees, coniferous forests, broad-leaved forests, shrub leaves can be raised. It is best to choose economic forests. Summer can be raised in broad leaves, often green trees, such as pear garden, plum garden tea forest. In winter, it is best to breed under deciduous young trees, such as chestnut gardens, bamboo forests and peach gardens.

3. Feeding insects

Every day the insects to the forest scattered food to the chickens, called on the chickens to catch food. If it is maggots, you can wash the insects directly with water, and then feed about 25% of the total feed, because it is a high protein feed, can not feed too much, plus maggots twice a day can be fed. Add maggots and don't feed other high-protein feeds, such as legumes. But it needs to be fed with green vegetables, grass and minerals. Nutrition is comprehensive.

4. Precautions

Chicks generally do not feed insects, feed formula feed, and so on when the chicks grow up some can feed insects, generally after a month. At this time feeding maggots plus corn flour. Gradually reduce formula feeding. Chickens can be fed no formula feed for nearly two months and only corn flour and fly maggots. Note that the main feed or energy feed, corn meal and the like.

Insect chickens are now a new trend, farming is more dominant, so many people began to join the ranks of insect chickens. It also has the title of bug chicken.
