Hsinchu City-the first food forest built by the people of Taiwan has been set up since 2016. recently, the "food forest harvest feedback mechanism" has been promoted in the 600 ping field of Jiangjun Village. The city government provides land and invites citizens to volunteer as "urban farmers". The harvested food can be used by businessmen and communities, and volunteer service hours can be exchanged for business products, forming a friendly circulation mechanism. Yesterday (3) Mayor Lin Zhijian personally harvested and experienced one-day farmer's music and handed the harvest to the general village merchants for on-site cooking. He said that in the past, the food forest next to Mackay attracted many elders to participate in seed picking and grow vegetables every day as a sport, so the city government continued to invite elders to join the food forest in the largest general village in Hsinchu, using "shopping in the vegetable garden instead of going to the hospital".

The feedback mechanism of "Food Forest friendly Circulation" is that the municipal government provides venues free of charge, volunteers pay time to assist in daily maintenance and harvest of food forests, and part of the harvest will be given back to community merchants. Volunteers can exchange related goods to merchants as feedback based on the number of service hours. For example, 3 hours can be exchanged for Xiancao tea, 5 hours plus 10 yuan for green jade crescent bone noodles at Zhai Nine Noodle Restaurant, 20 hours for free to participate in the flower art course at Simifeng bottle Primary School, and so on. Members of the public are welcome to consult the Indus Foundation through the Internet or on the spot to join the ranks of volunteers.

In recent years, Hsinchu City has completed two food forests, including the Hsinchu City Food Forest demonstration site next to Mackay Hospital and the General Village Food Forest. The third Hsinchu Zoo Food Forest is currently under construction. It is a very important field for environmental education and promotion in Hsinchu City. It is hoped that people will improve their environmental literacy while taking care of plants and learning interesting environmental courses. Members of the public who are interested in joining the Food Forest volunteers in Jiangjun Village are welcome to visit the Indus Foundation website (https://www.wutong.org.tw) for details.
