Camellia, Michelia, rhododendron, sweet-scented osmanthus, June snow and other woody flowers can also be cut in autumn, and the survival rate is relatively high, generally at 80%.

About 90%. The key to cutting woody flowers in autumn should pay attention to four points.

First, cutting time. It is suitable for the period from Cold Dew to Frosts Descent, that is, in mid-late October.

Second, cuttings selection. Cuttings require young age and low degree of Lignification, that is, strong young shoots that turn from green to yellowish brown are selected as cuttings. This kind of cuttings has sufficient nutrients, strong regeneration ability and easy to root. The length of the cuttings is 5 cm ~ 10 cm, the upper 2 ~ 3 leaves are retained, and the depth of the cuttings is 1 cm ~ 3 cm ~ 2.

Third, cutting soil. The sandy loam rich in organic matter is the best, with acidity, loose soil and good drainage and air permeability. Do not use clayey soil as soil for inserting machines.

Fourth, plug-in management. This is the key to the success or failure of cutting. Pour water after insertion, and cover the inserting bed with transparent plastic film for heat preservation and moisturizing. Insert a bed to avoid direct sunlight. Foliar spraying can be carried out after 1 week, and the soil can be kept moist after that. After 20 days, it was observed that the cutting leaves were strong, straight and bright green, which indicated that the cuttings had survived. After about 40 days, 2 ~ 3 young roots could be sent out at the internodes. At this time, it is winter, we should pay special attention to heat preservation and cold wind. The inserting bed should be moved into the room to keep the bed temperature above 5 ℃ ~ 10 ℃. In March of the following year, after the temperature rebounded, remove the film from the bed, give the cuttings proper light, keep the soil moist, and apply thin fertilizer. When the seedlings have grown 6 ~ 7 roots in the first and middle of April, they can be transplanted into the pot.
