When will the orchid blossom? How to raise it if it doesn't blossom?
Clivia is one of the common indoor flowers, bright flowers, with high ornamental value. However, many flower friends in the process of raising often occur will Clivia into a hulk but still do not bloom embarrassing things. So when does clivia bloom? What if it doesn't bloom?
Flower time of Clivia
Clivia has a long growth cycle, generally four or five years to cultivate, grow to 20 to 25 leaves to bloom, cultivate well also two or three years to shoot flowers, some even less than two years to shoot flowers. Most Clivia can shoot only one arrow a year and bloom once, but some can shoot two or three arrows a year due to cultivation. However, there are also some Clivia kept for six or seven years do not shoot flowers, and some flowers do not bloom once. Clivia flowering in February to April, after flowering can be appropriate cooling ventilation and reduce the light method to extend the flowering. Clivia flowering length, enough can be controlled through people's cultivation technology.

So how can clivia be raised to bloom? Do the following:
1. Spring: Avoid wind blowing
Early spring, clivia after hibernation, the root system began to recover. Due to the lack of nutrient supply, once exposed to the sun, the leaves will appear dehydration phenomenon, so that its brightness decreases, hardness, thickness decreases, and even yellow leaves, rotten leaves, etc. in serious cases. Therefore, more attention should be paid at this time: Clivia drought tolerance is not wet, pots and plants can be kept generally moist, watering too much, easy to rot roots. Before the arrow blooms, avoid spraying water. Apply fully decomposed liquid fertilizer once a week or half a month, but on the principle of thin fertilizer and frequent application, avoid applying thick fertilizer or raw fertilizer, and avoid leaf charring and rotten roots.
2. Summer: Death Day Sun
Clivia requirements for light is not strict, like half shade, but afraid of direct light. Because summer temperature and soil temperature is higher, easy to cause root disorder, absorption of nutrients imbalance and lead to neck pulling, channeling leaves and other phenomena occur. In addition, due to strong sunlight, greatly increased transpiration, if not properly watered, leaves will appear old brown or even wilting.
The requirements for cultivation in midsummer are:
1. Shading: It is best to place the pots under shade or shade and avoid direct sunlight at noon.
2. Cooling: In addition to placing the pot plant in a shady and ventilated place, it is also necessary to spray water frequently to cool down, temperature control below 25℃, humidity in 60~70% environment is appropriate.
3. Weight loss: Clivia at 25℃, to lose weight or stop fat, fertilization too much, will burn out the fleshy roots.
4. Watering: basin soil is semi-dry state, they want to water, but irrigation is poured thoroughly, do not let water drip into the leaves, so as not to occur rotten heart disease.

III. Autumn: avoid rain and spray water
Autumn, the climate is getting cooler, in the autumn rain continuous days, adult Clivia cutting arrow seeds, arrows flowering opportunities more, then such as rain or excessive watering, will lead to rotten roots, rotten arrows, rotten heart and other phenomena occur. Therefore, when the arrow blooms, avoid spraying water. Every half month or so, pour a decomposed cake fertilizer water (1:3). When watering, prevent water from infiltrating the center of the leaf cluster, and do not let rain pour into the leaf cluster to avoid rotten stamens. In severe cases, it will cause the whole plant to rot and die.
IV. Winter: avoid low temperature and dryness
In winter, when Clivia is at a low temperature below 5 ° C, the pot soil must be kept at a humidity of about 70%, so that it will not be frostbitten due to dryness. If the moisture content is less than 20%, it is vulnerable to death by dry freezing. Before frost falls, the room plants should be placed in a place with sunshine indoors, pay attention to anti-freezing and keep warm. About half a month, the pot plants should be rotated 180° to facilitate the neat and beautiful growth of leaves.
When the indoor temperature is 6~7℃ in winter, it can safely overwinter. Fermented cake fertilizer is applied once a month, and liquid fertilizer is poured every 10 days or so (nitrogen fertilizer should not be applied more). Three months before flowering, phosphorus and potassium-based liquid fertilizer was applied to promote the flowering of arrows. Winter, Clivia dormancy period, water evaporation is relatively reduced, basin soil can be kept moist, but it should be dry. Do not often cut off water, ponding or pouring half water. Otherwise, it will also cause scorched leaves or rotten roots.
Clivia in the maintenance process throughout the year, the pot plants should often be sprayed with water, spray after the best wipe dry with a fine cloth, so as to increase the smoothness of the leaves, but also improve the ornamental value.
