Autumn is the golden stage of the growth of Magnolia. At this time of year, it is time to change the pots for the magnolia.

Changing pots has two purposes: first, the small seedlings of Cymbidium have grown up, and the small pots can no longer adapt to the development of root systems, so they should be replaced with larger flowerpots; second, the big seedlings of Cymbidium have grown in the original pot for a year, and the nutrients in the pot soil have been almost exhausted. There is no value for reuse, so new culture soil should be replaced.

According to the experience gained from the maintenance of Cymbidium for many years, the seedlings with 2 ~ 4 leaves should be planted in pots with a diameter of 10 cm, the plants with 5 ~ 8 leaves should choose pots with a diameter of 13 cm, those with 9 ~ 12 leaves should use pots with a diameter of 17 cm, those with 13 ~ 16 leaves should use pots with a diameter of 23 cm, and adults with more than 17 leaves should use large pots with a diameter of 27 cm ~ 33 cm. It should be noted that try not to use plastic pots, porcelain pots, south mud basins to grow orchids, it is best to use simple pottery pots. The small hole at the bottom of the pottery basin is beneficial to the breathing of the root of the orchid.

The magnolia grows vigorously in autumn and needs a large amount of fertilizer. in addition to fermented bean cake dregs, bone meal, fried cannabis seeds or rabbit dung at the bottom of the basin when changing the basin, you can also put some fried dried sesame seeds and pig blood powder in the upper part of the basin soil. If there are conditions, fermented bean cake water or fish water can be applied every half a month.

In addition, in order to make the orchid blossom normally, do not rush to move it indoors after autumn, it should be treated outside for about 10 days after 5 ℃ of low temperature. If the temperature is about 5 ℃ in a short time, it will not be hurt. During the period of low temperature treatment, it is necessary to water less, stop fertilizing, and give proper light during the day. Magnolia can endure a low temperature of about 0 ℃ at night. After low temperature treatment, it was moved indoors and kept away from direct sunlight, keeping room temperature at 10 ℃ ~ 15 ℃.
