Overwintering Management of Flowers in greenhouse

According to observation, in continuous rainy and snowy weather, the temperature difference between the temperature inside and outside the shed is 2℃-4℃; in sunny days, the temperature inside the shed rises rapidly, which can be 15℃-25℃ higher than that outside the shed; while in the morning or late at night, the temperature inside the shed is only 1℃-3℃ higher than that outside the shed. Therefore, flowers should be used reasonably according to different types.

1. Flowers suitable for wintering in cold rooms

Potted camellia, rhododendron, palm bamboo, Michelia, amaryllis, etc. in the Yangtze River basin, as long as a little protection at low temperature can safely overwinter in dormant state. After entering the shed, pay attention to ventilation and cooling in sunny days, and do not break the dormancy. Of course, if the purpose is to urge flowers, it is another matter. Melon, primrose, caltrop flower, cyclamen, posthouse lotus, etc., the temperature shall be kept at 15℃-20℃ during the day, the temperature in the shed shall be ventilated if it is too high, and the temperature shall be covered and kept warm at night. If the temperature is too low, the temperature shall be increased, and the temperature shall be kept at about 5℃, not lower than 0℃.

2. Flowers suitable for wintering in greenhouse

Cactus, pineapple, arrowroot, variegated leaf wood, Brazil iron, fortune tree, dragon blood tree, tropical orchid and other high-temperature flowers. First, the greenhouse is covered with insulation materials to prevent heat loss at night, and this method is extremely effective at night on sunny days. Second, a simple shed is set in the greenhouse, that is, a double-layer shed, the distance between the two layers of plastic film is preferably about 10 cm, the air thermal conductivity in the middle is small, the insulation effect is better, and the temperature in the shed is more stable. Third, warming, electricity or boiler heating, energy consumption is large, the cost is high, can be combined with the first two measures, in the special low temperature and rain and snow days for a short time. This kind of flower is in clear daytime, the temperature inside shed amounts to 25℃ above also want ventilated, maintain dormancy overwintering.

In addition, the air humidity in the greenhouse is large, so special attention should be paid to the prevention and control of fungal diseases such as black spot disease and powdery mildew. Dormancy overwintering flowers, to stop fertilization, control watering, maintain semi-arid state, to prevent rotten roots and dead seedlings, flowers growing in the shed should also be moderately controlled watering, see dry see wet, often ventilated, to maintain healthy growth.
