Gentleman orchid is deeply loved by people because of its tall and straight plant shape, gorgeous flowers, thick green leaves and orderly leaves. It has a long flowering period, is a good product for viewing flowers and leaves, and is an excellent indoor ornamental plant.

The magnolia is native to South Africa and likes the moist and cool semi-shady environment. It is suitable to grow at the temperature of 15 ℃ to 25 ℃, high temperature in summer and strong light. If it is not maintained properly, the leaves will burn and turn yellow and white, which will affect the healthy growth. In order to make the orchid survive the hot summer smoothly, we must pay attention to the following points:

1. Fertilization

Summer is hot, and many Rain Water, generally should stop fertilization, in order to avoid rotting roots. If the gentleman orchid is placed in a cool and ventilated place, it will not be completely dormant, but the fertilization at this time will not be as normal as in spring and autumn, and the concentration will be reduced accordingly. Generally, thin bean cake liquid fertilizer can be applied once every 10 to 15 days. The basin soil should be dry before fertilizing so that it can be absorbed. At this time, fertilization must not be too frequent, because the orchid is fleshy root, otherwise due to "indigestion" will lead to rotten roots. At the same time, be careful not to touch the fat and water on the leaves, so as not to cause the leaves to shrink, and you can spray water on the leaves after the fertilizer.

Second, watering

The summer temperature is high, the evaporation capacity is large, generally wants to water once every morning, the specific situation also depends on the weather and the basin soil is dry and wet. Summer watering should be in line with the principle of not drying thoroughly, watering thoroughly, do not make the basin not wet or dry, otherwise the leaf growth is weak. The best watering is stored Rain Water, tap water needs to be precipitated for 24 hours before use to prevent soil deterioration. In case of continuous showers, it is necessary to pour water into the side basin or move it indoors in time. If the drainage of the basin soil is not smooth, the water accumulation time is long, and the fleshy root of the plant is easy to rot.

Third, remove arrows

The normal flowering period of Magnolia is from New Year's Day to the Spring Festival, when the light conditions are most suitable for its pregnant flowers to bloom. The magnolia only needs 3 to 5 hours of light every day. In order to prolong the flowering time, the light time can be shortened to 2 to 3 hours and placed in a low temperature place.

The flowering period of Cymbidium in winter and spring can be as long as two months, but if there are too many arrows in summer (20 to 30), there will be no good flowers in winter and spring, and they can only bloom for 15 to 20 days, so flowers and arrows should be cut off in time in summer to prevent nutrition consumption. to ensure the normal growth and flowering of plants in winter and spring.

IV. Pest control

During the dormancy period in summer, if the ventilation is poor and the humidity is too high, it is not conducive to plant growth, resulting in a decrease in plant disease resistance and vulnerable to pathogens and shell insects. It can be sprayed and killed by 1000 to 1500 times dichlorvos solution to the leaf surface.
