We learned from the Orchid Journal that the ancients focused on appreciating flowers, and the method of cultivation and reproduction focused on cultivating robust plants to make them blossom easily and bloom well. Therefore, it is advocated that neither prosperity nor division should be divided into clusters, or at least mother and son should be planted together. Therefore, it is said that there is one point in three years for fine goods and one point for five years for high-quality goods. Hundreds or even thousands of years later, with the evolution of organisms, the variation of climate, the progress of science and technology, and the renewal of ideas, people raising orchids is no longer "easy to blossom and blossom well" in the original sense, but should appreciate strange flowers and plants at the same time. pay more attention to the proliferation of orchids, requiring more seedlings, good seedlings, more returns, more benefits. After decades of continuous experiments and exploration of many Orchid families and Yilan people, gratifying achievements have been made in individual plant reproduction and cultivation, providing valuable experience for the majority of orchid farmers. Their main practices are:

Single plant propagation of orchid

The purpose of single plant propagation is to increase the number of new seedlings and strengthen the orchid population. The principle is to cut off the connection point between the bulb chains, cut off the flow of nutrients between the chains, stimulate bud germination, and let the nutrients produced by the orchid plant flow to the bud tip and bud, making it a new plant. In order to achieve this goal, we should pay attention to the following problems:

The first condition of ramet is variety selection. According to their reproductive ability and orchid plant growth, the first choice is Jian Lan and Mulan. Because its bulb is large and full, its growth is strong, and it can grow into a plant independently after cultivation. Followed by Chunlan, Chunjian, lotus petal orchid. Song Mei, Tong Le Mei, Tang Mei, Hong Yuemei, Zheng Tonghe and Ji Zi in Chunlan all have successful practical experience. Once again, Huilan. Although the bulb of Cymbidium is not obvious or without bulb, it grows strongly and its root system is long and stout. Second, the orchid plant is strong. Only the bulb is large, the plant is strong, and the root system is good. After a period of cultivation, a single plant can sprout new buds and multiply again. The third is to create a superior cultivation environment. That is, it is required that the orchid cultivation site is suitable, scientific watering, reasonable fertilization, light, temperature and air humidity can be effectively adjusted.

When weighing the pros and cons of orchids, whether to adopt single planting or cluster planting should be determined according to the flowering situation of the plant and the original planting methods. Can be planted alone, should be planted in clusters, can not be subjective, dead dogma. The progeny plants are strong and mature, and the root system of the offspring is OK. If the offspring can be planted independently after dismantling, each generation will be dismantled and planted to strive for more progeny. Otherwise, it should be planted in clumps first to ensure safety.

The ramet method should be based on the specific situation, which can be put in place in one step or divided into two steps, or full separation method or semi-separation method. In one step, the offspring, mothers and fathers of orchids are all dismantled into individual plants. The offspring can sprout more, the mother generation can sprout, and the parent generation may sprout, which can greatly increase the seedling rate and realize the proliferation of orchid plants. Under certain circumstances, the sub-plant can also be opened, and the mother and master can be linked together. Divided into two steps, is to twist the connection between each plant or sub-plant and the mother-to-man plant (commonly known as "road"), but not twist it, grow it into a semi-separated shape, and then divide it into a single plant after a period of time.

Meticulous operation. For tufted orchids, the "road" between daughter and mother plants is often very narrow, making it difficult to split up. In addition, the suitable season for orchid ramets is often the time when offspring plants begin to sprout. This requires that when breaking up, we must be careful and not act in haste; we should try our best to reduce the wound and avoid damaging the blue bud. Because after the split, the plant has fewer roots, its own stability is poor, and it is easy to stagger. During cultivation, necessary fixed measures should be taken to protect the orchid seedlings intact.

Single plant cultivation of orchid

In the aspect of orchid cultivation, the ancients said that "orchids like to gather together, but are afraid of leaving their mother." That is to say, orchids like to grow in clusters, but are afraid of sharing orders. From clump planting to single planting is an innovation of modern people in orchid cultivation, which is bound to encounter many new problems, which requires us to carry out new exploration and sum up new experience. According to the practice of orchid friends, the following points should be grasped in the cultivation of single planting:

Because the plant material is cultivated by a single plant, the requirement of plant material is higher. The main materials are generally mixed with planting stone and immortal soil, together with other auxiliary materials. There is also a total amount of 5% bone charcoal added to the plant to increase phosphorus and play a role in inducing buds. The prepared plant material is required to be granular, loose and breathable, water and fertilizer, aseptic and insect-free, slightly acidic.

Keeping a certain amount of light is beneficial to the germination and growth of new buds, but the light should not be too strong, otherwise it will burn the orchid plant. Winter and spring can accept full light, early summer and late autumn should accept early morning sun, midsummer and early autumn must be shaded, shading should not be less than 70%.

The growth of orchids is closely related to air temperature. Too high temperature will make the orchid plant dry, too low and poor growth. Summer and autumn season should pay attention to ventilation and cooling, the temperature should be controlled below 30 degrees; late winter and early spring should pay attention to cold protection, indoor temperature should be kept above 8 degrees.

Moisture is one of the key measures for orchid cultivation. The orchid basin must be moderate in size, the basin is easy to be waterlogged and lead to rotten roots, and the basin is small and easy to dry to cause water loss. Daily attention should be paid to observing and exploring the dry and wet condition of plant materials, and watering should be based on the principle of "dry but not dry, moist but not wet".

Humidity includes two aspects: orchid basin humidity and air humidity. The plant material in the basin should be kept dry and wet moderately, and avoid being too dry and too wet. The air humidity of Lanchang should be maintained at 80%-85% during the growing period, and slightly lower during the dormant period, which can be maintained at about 60%.

Fertilizer raises the orchid in the root, the root good seedling must be strong, easy to send more seedlings, send strong seedlings. In order to protect Langen from loss, try not to apply farm manure, especially raw fertilizer and thick fertilizer. It is best to apply micro-fertilizer and special fertilizer for orchids, such as "hair transplant", "complete plant", "king of orchid bacteria", "Huabao 5" and so on. Foliar fertilizer spraying should be the main form of fertilization, supplemented by root watering. According to Lan you, a week after planting, you can spray "hair transplant" with the required concentration of 2 prime 3, twice a week. Two months later, the whole plant was sprayed at a concentration of about 1 to 2, also twice a week. When the bud is unearthed 1 cm, the root can be irrigated with 2000 times of the liquid of "Huabao 5", once every 10 days, which can promote the growth of seedlings.
