The propagation of orchids is carried out after the pot is full (that is, the basin is divided). The ramet propagation of orchids can be carried out twice a year, once before and after the Qingming Festival, and once before and after the Autumn Equinox. Chunlan and Huilan, which bloom in spring and summer, should be carried out when the growth stops between September and October in late autumn, and the pot can also be turned after flowering. Jianlan, which blossoms in autumn, should be carried out between March and April in spring (before new buds are drawn). As the orchid sends new roots and new leaves only once a year and grows slowly, it usually needs to be divided into pots every three or four years.

When dividing the basin, the basin soil should be drier, and the wet mud turning over the basin is easy to break or hurt the root because of the inconvenient operation. After the mother plant is turned out, gently remove the soil, separate according to the natural plant, prune the abortive roots and leaves, and do not touch the leaf buds and fleshy roots during pruning. Then wash the root with clean water, put it in a cool place, wait for the root color to turn white, and then put it on the basin when it is dry. If the weather is wet, you need to bask in the sun for 10 minutes. Orchids on the pot, the soil should be filled, the roots do not touch the soil: its roots will wither. Water the seeds and dispose of them for half to two months. See you again sooner or later. After separate planting, the initial stage must pay attention to buckle water, shade, avoid the sun, do not take it lightly.

In family cultivation, orchids sometimes have flowers in the first year, no flowers in the second year, and die in the third year, except that they do not master the methods of cultivation and management. the key is that the number of tubes left in the first year is too few (the leaves of orchids are often clustered into bundles after they are extracted from the roots and stems, and each bundle of leaves is called "one tube"). Generally speaking, Chunlan needs more than 8 barrels to split, while Huilan needs 11 to 12 cylinders to split. And when the first year of flowering, choose only a small number of strong flower buds, pick the rest of the flower buds, so that they do not consume too much nutrients, so that they can still blossom in the second year under normal circumstances.
