The cool autumn should change the basin for the magnolia.
According to years of experience, 2 to 4 leaves of Magnolia use 10 cm pots, 5 to 8 leaves use 13 cm pots, 9 to 12 leaves use 17 cm pots, 13 to 16 leaves use 23 cm pots, and more than 17 leaves use 27 to 33 cm pots. Do not use plastic pots, porcelain pots, south mud basins, it is best to use simple ceramic pots.
Magnolia grows vigorously in autumn and needs a large amount of fertilizer. Therefore, in addition to fermented bean cake dregs, bone meal, fried hemp seeds or rabbit dung as base fertilizer when changing the basin, you can also put some fried perilla seeds, dried sesame seeds, pig blood powder and so on in the upper part of the basin soil. Fermented bean cake water or fishy water can be applied every half a month if possible.
In addition, in order to make the orchid blossom normally, do not rush to move indoors in autumn, should be outdoors after about 5 ℃ of low temperature treatment for about 10 days. During this period, less watering should be done, fertilizers should be stopped, and proper light should be given during the day. Magnolia can endure a low temperature of about 0 ℃ for a short time. If the temperature is about 5 ℃ in a short time, it will not be hurt. After low temperature treatment, move it indoors and maintain it without direct sunlight at 10 to 15 ℃.
