Winter is the biggest test period for breeding magnolia, if it is not properly maintained, it may not be able to blossom in the coming year, so it should be taken care of. But care should not be excessive, otherwise it will be counterproductive. The following is to introduce you to the eight taboos of Orchid maintenance in winter.

First, avoid constant temperature. Some people put the orchid in a constant temperature room in winter, which is very disadvantageous to the growth and development of the orchid. The orchid should be kept in a warm place indoors in winter. The temperature should be controlled at about 23 ℃ during the day, 13 ℃ at night, and the temperature difference between day and night about 10 ℃.

Second, avoid fire roasting. The magnolia is not resistant to low temperature, and some people often put it by the fire in order to keep warm, which can easily cause the yellow leaves of the orchid and affect its normal growth.

Third, avoid long light. Gentleman orchids like plenty of sunshine in winter, but they don't need long sunshine. If it is kept in the light for 24 hours, it will affect the archery blossom of the magnolia.

Fourth, avoid pickling arrows. Don't let its buds see the sun too early after archery, otherwise it will easily lead to flowering in the leaves.

Fifth, avoid watering too frequently. The temperature is low in winter and the ventilation condition is not good, so it is necessary to control the watering times. Usually pour enough water at one time, wait for the basin soil to dry naturally and then water it. If it is watered too frequently, the basin soil will accumulate water for a long time, which will cause root rot.

Sixth, avoid dry air. The relative humidity of indoor air is low in winter, especially in the room with heating equipment, the air is more likely to be dry. Therefore, we should often spray water to the leaf surface and basin surface, and wipe the leaf surface with gauze.

Seventh, avoid applying raw fertilizer. Some people think that if the temperature is low in winter, there is no problem with applying raw fertilizer. In fact, the fertilizer can decompose and ferment under the condition of 15 to 18 ℃, resulting in high temperature and burning the fleshy root of Cymbidium.

Eighth, avoid the attack of cold wave. When the temperature is below 4 ℃, Cymbidium will be festered by leaves. Therefore, it is necessary to do a good job in keeping warm during the cold wave and strictly prevent frost damage caused by extreme low temperature. In case you inadvertently catch cold, put it in a low temperature place to ease slowly.
