After the flowering of Phalaenopsis is basically finished, cut off its residual pedicel first, gently remove the orchid plant from the flowerpot, remove the surrounding old potted matrix, do not hurt its young fleshy roots, cut off the old roots, rotten roots and yellow leaves with scissors, slightly spread them out, and then wrap the roots in pots with soaked new moss, pay attention to make the roots evenly separated, not several roots squeezed together. The suitable temperature for its growth is 25 ℃ to 28 ℃ in daytime and 18 ℃ to 20 ℃ at night. It is more than 32 ℃ in summer and stagnant when it is less than 10 ℃ in winter. The high temperature of more than 32 ℃ is very disadvantageous to Phalaenopsis, which will promote its semi-dormancy and affect the flower bud differentiation in autumn. Normal flower bud differentiation can only be carried out smoothly under 18 ℃. It should be placed in a place with 70% shading in summer and 50% in spring and autumn, and the relative air humidity should be kept at about 70%. Watering is one to two days in summer and once a week in winter. The watering time is best arranged in the morning of the day. The water can be completely dried before night, and the leaves and petioles are not stagnant overnight, so as not to cause diseases. When just changing the basin, the cultivation substrate should be kept relatively dry, and controlled watering can promote the germination of new roots and avoid the decay of old roots. More water is needed during bud pregnancy and flowering, as long as the room temperature is not too low and the surface of the cultivation substrate becomes gray and dry, supplementary watering should be given. It should be put in a well-ventilated place in summer, gravel is placed on the ground and water is often sprayed to improve air humidity. For adult plants after flowering, it is necessary to supplement balanced fertilizer with three elements after flower fade every year, and it is best to use special fertilizer for orchid plants to apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer in autumn. In order to prevent diseases in the leaves of Phalaenopsis, 500 times solution of carbendan can be sprayed every 10 days to prevent the spread of anthracnose and brown spot.

The family culture of Phalaenopsis is relatively simple, and the split plant method can be used. Some varieties can sprout and root on the pedicel and cut it off and plant it separately. Some larger plants grow a lot of aerial roots. the upper part with 2 to 3 aerial roots can be cut and planted in another pot, and the rest of the stem base can grow new buds and form new plants after a period of time. After the new plant has several aerial roots, it can be planted again in spring.
