Clivia's normal flowering period is from January to May, that is, from midwinter to early summer. Sometimes due to physiological disorders, flowering delayed or early. Theoretically speaking, the flowering period of common flowers can be controlled, but the flowering habits of Clivia have not been fully understood, so it is difficult to accurately control its flowering period. However, experienced people can change the flowering period by various measures.

If you want to make Clivia flower early, you must do:

(1)Cultivate soil must be good, and adhere to the annual inverted basin for soil. The pot soil should contain 60% needle and broadleaf humus, 20% decomposed horse manure, 10% river sand and 10% bone meal.

(2)In summer, cooling measures should be taken to create a small environment of 20 - 25℃ during the day and 15-20℃ at night, and the most reasonable fertilization should be used to ensure that Clivia does not dormancy in summer and ensures the growth of all seasons.

(3)In order to ensure the normal growth of Clivia in summer, it is necessary to control the illumination. From May onwards, with the increase of temperature and the enhancement of sunlight, the transmittance is continuously adjusted to create the best illumination conditions for it.

(4)Create a small environment with humidity no less than 60%.

Satisfied the above conditions, a considerable part of Clivia can flower less than two years. Most clivia can only smoke one arrow a year and bloom once. However, if cultivated properly, two or three arrows, or even four or five arrows, can be drawn a year. Each arrow usually consists of 10 to 30 flowers, up to 40 flowers.

Clivia winter, spring two seasons on an inflorescence fishing flowers can open for two months, each flower can open 25~30 days. If flowering in summer, due to higher temperatures, each flower can only open for 15 to 20 days.

Self-pollination is the key factor affecting the fruiting of Clivia. Self-pollination not only has few variation types, serious degeneration, but also has low fruiting rate. Pollinated by different varieties not only increased the emergence rate of new varieties, but also significantly increased the number of seeds in the fruit. The maximum number of seeds could be 40.
