Five-step method for maintenance of northern orchids
Orchids are monocotyledonous perennial herbs and are traditional Chinese flowers. There are pseudobulms and fleshy hypertrophic tufts of roots, with striate or linear leaves arising from pseudobulbs. Flowers are famous for their fragrance. Sex likes cold, humid and semi-overcast climate.
1. How to conserve orchids in the north? Orchid is a traditional Chinese flower, elegant and holy, and it has been the first choice for Chinese families to protect flowers and plants since ancient times. But in the north of our country, it is always difficult to raise orchids. So, in the northern cultivation, how to maintain orchids?
The first step: to choose the right container to cultivate orchids, you must first choose a good pot. The size of the basin should be based on the fact that the root system can stretch completely naturally in the basin. For general conservation of orchids, it is best to use mud pots. In order to increase the decorative effect, you can set a porcelain basin with colored glaze on the outside of the mud basin. Potted soil is best made with special orchid mud, and flower lovers can also make it by themselves. It can be prepared with 6 parts of rotten leaf soil or peat soil, 3 parts of sand soil, 1 part of cake fertilizer, or 5 parts of rotten leaf soil, 3 parts of compost and 2 parts of coarse sand. When preparing the culture soil, each material should be broken and screened, and then fully mixed to make its density consistent, and disinfection should be carried out before use. When putting on the pot, put the pot bottom on the furnace ash and other things, in order to facilitate drainage and ventilation, and then plant the orchid plant.
The second step: watering maintenance orchid watering should be appropriate. Orchids are fleshy roots, and too much watering is easy to rot. Spring and autumn generally water every 1-2 days, the summer temperature is high, and the orchid is in the peak period of growth, usually in the early morning and evening to water once, avoid the hot sun to pour cold water, sudden cold and heat is the big taboo of orchid maintenance. In addition, the foliage should be often sprayed with water and sprinkled to the ground around the flowerpot to increase air humidity, which is very beneficial to the growth, development and maintenance of orchids. Winter temperature is low, most orchids into the dormant period, at this time to control watering, can be watered every 5-7 days. To water the orchid slowly along the edge of the basin, do not water the head water, pay attention to prevent water spots from splashing on the leaves, otherwise it is easy to produce black scorch spots, affecting the ornamental value.
The third step: fertilize orchids do not like thick fertilizer. To fertilize orchids, we should pay attention to the frequent application of thin fertilizer, the so-called clear orchids, turbid jasmine is this truth. Generally speaking, newly planted orchids should not be fertilized in the first year, but can be fertilized 1-2 times a month after Qingming Festival in the second year until the Beginning of Autumn. The water should be controlled for 1-2 days before fertilization, and the soil should be slightly dry before applying. Water should be watered once in the morning after fertilization to prevent anything in the fertilizer solution from polluting the root system and causing damage to the Langen. Be careful not to stain the leaves when applying liquid fertilizer. For the rapid growth after several years of culture, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer was mainly applied in the later stage, which was beneficial to the enlargement of the pseudobulb, the width and thickness of the leaves, and provided sufficient nutrients for flower bud differentiation. Before flower bud differentiation in autumn every year, liquid fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium should be applied twice successively. Clear water should be used to clean the leaves in the sunny evening of the bud period, and then 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution should be sprayed on the leaf surface and back with a small sprayer after drying. Plant ash water can also be applied at this time. About 20 days after flower shedding, nitrogen fertilizer or compound flower fertilizer was applied twice to promote plant growth. Stop fertilizing in rainy days and dormant periods in winter.
Step 4: light maintenance of orchids should be appropriate. 4mi-in early May, you can see more sunshine before 9: 00 a.m. Shade is needed after mid-to-late May, when orchids need to be cultivated in a cool, ventilated, semi-cool place. The Beginning of Autumn should let orchids bask in more sun in the future to promote flower bud differentiation. Put it in a semi-cool place indoors after winter.
Step 5: the main disease of orchids is black spot. Spraying 500-600 times rice vinegar solution on the back of orchids and around orchid plants every 5-7 days can make orchids grow healthily. The main component of rice vinegar is acetic acid, but also contains a variety of organic acids, which can promote plant growth and enhance photosynthesis.
