The application of raw gypsum in edible fungus culture medium belongs to auxiliary raw materials, which are used to increase nutrition and improve chemical and physical state. The addition amount of raw gypsum in edible fungus culture medium is between 1-3%.

1. The role of adding raw gypsum to the culture medium of edible fungi in increasing nutrition:

1. Directly supplement the deficiency of sulfur and calcium in the culture medium.

2. Fixing gaseous nitrogen to chemical nitrogen is beneficial to the stability of free ammonia in the stack and reduce the loss of nitrogen in the culture medium.

3. It can accelerate the decomposition of organic matter in the culture medium, promote the release of soluble phosphorus and potassium in the material, and supply the absorption and utilization of mycelium.

4. Calcium ions can make the colloidal membrane disappear in composting, which is beneficial to the absorption of nutrients by mushroom hyphae.

5. Raw gypsum can neutralize oxalic acid produced by mushroom hyphae during growth, and form a cell membrane with calcium oxalate on the surface of mushroom hyphae, which can defend against foreign enemies and protect mycelium.

6. After fermentation, the degradation rate of cellulose and soluble sugar increased.

Second, the main role of adding raw gypsum to the culture medium of edible fungi in improving chemical and physical state:

1. Improve the buffer capacity of the culture medium and inhibit the side effects of excessive PH caused by ammonia even after sowing.

2. To prevent the acidification and anaerobic fermentation of the culture medium, and avoid the great change of the pH of the culture medium.

3. Enhance the agglomeration effect of the culture medium on the stroma of some bacteria, which can reduce the destruction of the culture structure due to the activity of bacteria in the process of composting.

4. it is helpful for the medium to reduce the sensitivity to some nutritional supplements during soil mulching and increase the yield.

5. The calcitonin provided by raw gypsum is different from other heavy metal ions. It is non-toxic and can make the colloidal particles on the surface of straw agglomerate into large particles and precipitate, resulting in condensation, forming a physical structure with good ventilation, and loosening the culture medium. Improve water storage and ventilation, and promote the activities of beneficial microorganisms

6. Raw gypsum also has strong water absorption, which can improve the water-holding capacity of compost.

III. Scope of application

Calcium sulfate dihydrate (raw gypsum) is a component of the culture medium, which is widely used in the cultivation materials of Pleurotus ostreatus, Lentinus edodes, black fungus, Tremella fuciformis, Flammulina velutipes, hericium Erinaceus, Ganoderma lucidum, Pleurotus ostreatus, Coprinus comatus, Pleurotus ostreatus, Pleurotus eryngii and so on.

The chemical composition of cooked gypsum powder is calcium sulfate hemihydrate, which has gelation properties. after mixing with water, it is reduced to calcium sulfate dihydrate, and it is rarely used in edible fungus culture medium because of the properties of solidification, exothermic and reduction in water.
