Inject water into the pan and soak the basin every other week or so to keep the basin soil dry for a long time. I have used this method for nearly two years, and it is found that there are not only no rotten roots, but also many, snow-white and sturdy roots, with bright leaves, light, wide and short colors. The reason for this satisfactory effect, I think:

First, this method improves the loose and permeable condition of basin soil.

The key to the cultivation of Magnolia should be to keep the basin soil loose and ventilated. By using this method, the problem of soil consolidation caused by basin watering is avoided in the past. Although the root system of Cymbidium is moist for a long time, it will not rot because of the loose soil.

Second, it has improved the hot and dry living environment on the balcony.

The magnolia is native to the mountain forests of South Africa and likes a warm and moist living environment. On the balcony, it is often not good because of the hot and dry air. After using this method, a higher air humidity is created, which can cool down in summer and rise in winter, thus maintaining a good warm and humid environment. Third, it has changed the situation of sudden drought and waterlogging in the basin soil. In the past, I used the traditional cultivation method on the balcony, which often caused the orchid to be waterlogged and sometimes dry, especially in the condition of drought for a long time. The root system of the magnolia was either rotten or withered, and the leaves often appeared disease spots. After using wet culture, the basin soil absorbs water from bottom to top, dry, and moisture will stop naturally, so it will not be dry, nor will the water supply be too large, which ensures the balanced water supply of gentleman orchid, thus growing very well.
