Violet is a famous flower, purple flowers look very noble and elegant, and the most common method of propagation of violets is cutting and sowing reproduction, generally for sowing reproduction, but can also be propagated by cuttings. So how do violets propagate by cuttings? Let's get to know it.

1. Preparation for cuttings

First of all, select the robust leaves of the mother plant, keep the 2cm petiole and cut it off, and then soak the wound of the leaf with phenylacetic acid solution for 1-2 hours, so that it can take root as soon as possible. After the leaves are soaked, leave them in a cool, ventilated place to dry, so that you can prepare the cuttings.

2. Culture medium

The culture medium had better choose loose and breathable peat soil, which is not only water-retaining and breathable, but also rich in humus, which is beneficial to its growth as soon as possible. Culture containers can choose to use flowerpots or cups, bottles and the like, wait until the cuttage survival rate takes root before transplanting, but it should be noted that there should be drainage holes under the cultivation container to avoid stagnant water leading to cutting failure.

3. Cuttage

When cutting, dip the bottom of the leaf with rooting powder, insert it into the substrate, if it is a branch, the depth is about 4 cm, and the leaf is about 2 cm, insert all the petioles, and be careful not to accidentally hurt the leaves when cutting. After pouring through the water, put it in a cool place, if the temperature is not suitable, you can use plastic film to cover and clean the basin soil, play the role of heat preservation and moisturizing, and promote rooting. Leave several breathing holes when sealing, and then put them in a cool and ventilated place.

4. Maintenance and transplanting

The cuttings of branches can take root in 2 weeks, while the leaves should be a little slower, and it usually takes 3-4 weeks to take root. during the rooting period, the humidity of the substrate should be ensured and the temperature should be controlled between 18 and 24 degrees. New seedlings usually grow within two months. At this time, normal maintenance and transplanting can be carried out, and if the maintenance is obtained, the newly propagated violets will blossom half a year later.
