Prevention and treatment of common diseases of Cymbidium
Rotten root is a common and frequently-occurring disease of Cymbidium, and it is also one of the most serious diseases to the plant. The way to save the rotten roots is to remove the diseased plants from the basin, shake the soil, remove the rotten roots, wash the roots and sterilize them with potassium permanganate solution, and then smear the wound with sulfur powder or plant ash and charcoal powder. If the rotten root is less than 1 stroke 3, the new culture soil can be replaced, watering is controlled for 7 to 10 days, and the basin soil is kept slightly dry for about two months, which can restore vitality.
Heart rot is a disease caused by a fungus, which mostly occurs in the period of high temperature in summer. The causes of the disease are as follows: one is that the plant suffers from rain or careless watering and spraying, splashing water into the leaves, resulting in the rot of the central leaf and even the pseudobulb; the other is that the pseudobulb is harmed by shell insects. The damaged plants, leaf centers and pseudo-bulbs seem to have been scalded by boiling water. Prevention methods, try to avoid foliage stagnant, timely use of artificial or drug to eliminate shell insects. The measure to rescue the rotten heart is to remove the rotten part, wipe the exudate from the wound, apply plant ash or charcoal powder, wait for the shade to dry, plant it in the newly cultured soil and put it in the 20-25 ℃ environment. After about 1-2 months of careful management, the false bulb can produce new leaves or foot buds around the rhizome.
