Propagation methods of hops
Hops is now a developing cash crop in China. When producing beer, hops is a very important raw material. So now the planting area of beer talk is still very large. When growing hops, the most important thing is to do a good job in hops breeding. So how do hops propagate? The following editor brings you the breeding method of hops, let's have a look!
1. Seed propagation
When using seeds to propagate, it is mainly used for cross breeding of hops. The seed coat of hops is relatively hard and stunted, so its germination rate is relatively low, only about 10%. Therefore, we should choose full seeds before sowing, and then soak them in warm water of about 35 degrees and put them in an environment of 24 degrees to promote germination. You can sow seeds when the average temperature reaches about 20 degrees. After sowing, you should pay attention to cover a layer of fine soil, often water to maintain soil moisture, and it can be unearthed after about 4 days. Sunshade measures should be taken after the seedlings are unearthed, and then topdressing twice in the middle of the seedlings.
2. Cuttage propagation of underground stem
The cutting propagation of underground stem is a relatively simple and most commonly used method in the propagation of hops. When cutting the buds of hops every year, the seedlings of underground stems with long 12cm, thick 1.8cm and smooth cut are selected to cut directly. If it can not be cut in time, then it should be worth digging the trench of 70cm in the high dry place. Then the seedlings are bundled into small handfuls according to the specifications and varieties, and then classified and marked into the ditch for value. If transportation is needed, pay attention to water loss and temperature.
3. Greenwood cutting
Green wood cutting is also a common propagation method of hops, and the propagation coefficient of green wood cutting is relatively high. It can be carried out in the environment of greenhouse and seedbed, but now it is not widely used in China, and it is generally used more abroad. The experimental results show that if the Greenwood cuttings with about two bud nodes are selected from May to June, the survival rate can reach more than 95%. Or you can postpone for a month, choose a bud node of the green branch, use indole acetic acid to treat it, the rooting rate is also very high.
4. Propagation by bud planting
When cutting buds, we should choose buds with the right amount of fibrous roots that are about 8-12 cm long, full, robust and disease-free. Control the row spacing and plant it directly in the nursery. When the buds are planted, all the buds should be planted in the soil, and the distance between the top of the buds and the ground should be controlled at about 3 cm. After planting, it is necessary to cover the soil properly, and then water it to keep the soil moist. Under normal circumstances, seedlings can emerge in 2-3 weeks. After emergence, according to the requirements of seedling management, we can do a good job of management.
The above is a brief introduction to the breeding methods of hops. There are many breeding methods of hops, mainly according to their own planting habits and methods to choose. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
