First, the selection of varieties. According to the characteristics of varieties, early and middle maturity varieties can be selected as the main varieties of side branch production, such as excellent, green wind and so on.

Second, planting density. After the main curd is harvested, the plant type is properly dispersed in order to facilitate the growth and development of lateral flower heads. Therefore, the varieties that need to be harvested should be sparse and moderate regularly, too dense planting will cause poor ventilation, lateral branch corm stem is thin and weak, easy to spread, affecting the quality. Generally, plant spacing 55cm, row spacing 60cm, that is, planting 2100mu 2200 plants per mu is suitable.

Third, fertilizer and water management. After the main flower ball was harvested, the basal fertilizer and early topdressing had been basically consumed, and the lateral branch fertilizer must be added to harvest lateral branches. Generally speaking, the application of lateral branch fertilizer after the harvest of 70% of the main corm can not only meet the needs of the growth of lateral branches, but also improve the yield of the main corm. Topdressing is mainly applied to plants, urea 10-15kg and compound fertilizer 10kg are applied per mu. After the first batch of side branches were harvested, if the side branches were still growing healthily, urea 10kg/ mu could be applied again and the second batch of side branches could be harvested. In this way, 5 batches of lateral branch flower heads can be harvested, and the total yield can reach about 500kg/ mu. Keep the soil moist throughout the growing period, but do not accumulate water in the field.

Fourth, pest control. It is forbidden to spray pesticides when broccoli is in bud, and there are many diseases and insect pests in the later stage of plant growth, so special attention should be paid to the control of diseases and insect pests in harvesting lateral branches. The main diseases in the later stage of broccoli are black rot (80% must be controlled by 600 times), downy mildew (1500 times) and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (1000 times). The main pests are Plutella xylostella (5% cardamole 1200 times or 24% Leitong 2500 times) and cabbage insects (both for the control of Plutella xylostella).
