Improper application of pesticides does great harm. To put an end to the harm of pesticides, the correct use of pesticides, pesticide packaging and use instructions play a key role. The packaging and instructions for the use of pesticides should strictly follow the national standards, and the contents of the labels should be popular, accurate and scientific, so as to make it easy for users to understand and master the correct use of the product. In the process of going to the countryside to serve, the author found that the farmers' most direct requirements for pesticide packaging are as follows:

1. Anti-counterfeiting sign

In recent years, incidents of farmers harming farmers in fake pesticide pits have occurred from time to time, and farmers' friends are afraid of fake pesticide pits. Therefore, farmers hope that pesticide enterprises can apply high-tech anti-counterfeiting technology to all kinds of pesticide packaging in order to identify authenticity. At the same time, they also hope that the industrial and commercial departments can focus on managing counterfeit anti-counterfeiting signs, so that anti-counterfeiting signs really play an anti-counterfeiting role, and more importantly, further strengthen pesticide market management to prevent fake pesticides from entering the agricultural material circulation market.

2. There is a calibration or measuring device on the packaging bottle.

There is no scale on the packaging bottle of pesticides, farmers often can only rely on eyesight and experience to determine the amount of pesticides, excessive will cause drug damage, a small amount will not achieve the best control effect. In this regard, farmers hope that pesticide manufacturers can print on the packaging bottles to show the weight or volume scale. Of course, if the pesticide packaging bottles (bags) equipped with pesticide dosage measuring equipment, one bottle (bag), it will be more popular with farmers.

3. Dilution concentration is easy to understand.

The dilution concentration of pesticides is generally marked on the label how many times the dilution is (for example, 500 times, 200 times, etc.). In recent years, as young people in rural areas have gone to work in cities, most of the people who are engaged in agricultural production at home are women and the elderly with low educational level. it's hard for them to understand and calculate. Therefore, farmers hope that on the basis of marking diluted liquid, adding a column to directly indicate the amount of medicine per mu or each standard spraying appliance (such as 15kg sprayer), so that users can easily understand.

4. Small dose packaging

The pesticides purchased by farmers can not be used up at once and are stored at home. If they are not stored properly, poisoning accidents will occur in livestock, poultry and even family members. In addition, every year, a large number of villagers commit suicide by taking pesticides because of conflicts among family members in rural areas of our country. Therefore, farmers hope that pesticide manufacturers had better produce more small-dose packaged pesticides and buy them now. For example, more low-dose injection pesticides are produced.

5. First aid method of poisoning

It is difficult for farmers to absolutely avoid pesticide poisoning accidents in the process of storing and using pesticides. In the event of pesticide poisoning, it must be rescued on the spot. Now there are more and more kinds of pesticides, and there are different first aid methods for different kinds of pesticide poisoning. once pesticide poisoning occurs, farmers, including some rural doctors, are often at a loss. Therefore, farmers hope to introduce the first aid methods after pesticide poisoning on the packaging.

6. Prohibited species

The harm of pesticide residues has attracted more and more attention of the public. nowadays, the market access requirements of agricultural products, especially vegetables and fruits, are getting higher and higher. Farmers want manufacturers to mark the types of applicable and banned crops on pesticide bags so that their agricultural products can meet pollution-free standards.

7. Interval for the use of vegetables and fruits

Because the pesticide packaging does not specify the interval time when it is used to kill pests of vegetables and fruits, vegetable farmers and fruit farmers often do not pay attention to the interval before the vegetables are put on the market when using pesticides to control diseases and insect pests, resulting in a large amount of pesticide residues on vegetables and endangering the safety of consumers. Therefore, farmers hope that pesticide packaging should be banned a few days before the market when used in vegetables and fruits.

8. Acidity and basicity of pesticides

The packaging of many pesticides is not marked as acidic, alkaline or neutral, but there is a warning that the pesticide should not be mixed with alkaline or acidic pesticides. As a result, farmers simply do not know which pesticides can be mixed and which can not be mixed. Therefore, it is hoped that the acidity and basicity of pesticides can be marked on the pesticide packaging to let users know whether they can be mixed and avoid the mixed use of immiscible pesticides, resulting in reduced efficacy or drug damage.

9. Plastic instead of glass in liquid pesticide packaging

About 2/3 of the pesticides currently in use are liquid forms. Liquid pesticides have been packed in glass bottles for a long time. However, the glass bottle has some shortcomings, such as high damage rate, lax sealing and inconvenient measurement. Plastic containers have the advantages of lightweight, drop resistance, accurate measurement and low overall packaging cost, so plastic instead of glass has become an irreversible development trend of pesticide packaging. Pesticides packed in plastic bags are widely used in Europe, the United States, Japan and other countries. When they are used, they only need to put the required dose into a fixed amount of water, and the users do not need to contact the pesticides directly, which avoids the occurrence of poisoning. On the other hand, the measurement is accurate and avoid excessive or insufficient use of pesticides.
