I. Variety selection

According to the characteristics of varieties, early and middle maturity varieties can be selected as the main varieties of side branch production, such as excellent, green wind and so on.

2. Planting density

After the main curd is harvested, the plant type is properly dispersed in order to facilitate the growth and development of lateral flower heads. Therefore, the varieties that need to be harvested should be sparse and moderate regularly, too dense planting will cause poor ventilation of the plant, and the lateral branch corm stem is thin and weak, easy to spread and affect the quality. Generally with plant spacing of 55 cm, row spacing of 60 cm, that is, it is appropriate to plant 2100 to 2200 plants per mu.

III. Fertilizer and water management

After the main flower ball was harvested, the basal fertilizer and early topdressing had been basically consumed, and the lateral branch fertilizer must be added to harvest lateral branches. The application of lateral branch fertilizer after 60% to 70% of the main corm harvest can not only meet the needs of lateral branch growth, but also improve the yield of the main corm. Topdressing is mainly applied to plants, with 10 to 15 kg of urea and 10 kg of compound fertilizer per mu. After the first batch of side branches were harvested, if the side branches were still growing healthily, about 10 kg of urea per mu could be applied and the second batch of side branches could be harvested. In this way, 4 to 5 batches of lateral bouquet can be harvested, and the total yield can reach about 500 kg per mu. Keep the soil moist throughout the growing period, but do not accumulate water in the field.

IV. Pest control

It is forbidden to spray pesticides in the bud of exported broccoli, and there are many diseases and insect pests in the later stage of plant growth, so special attention should be paid to the control of diseases and insect pests in collecting lateral branches. The main diseases in the later stage of broccoli are black rot (using 80% necessary liquid 1500 times), downy mildew (50% Shiyun 1500 times solution) and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (50% Xiuan 1000 times solution). The main pests are Plutella xylostella (5% carbazol 1200 times or 24% Leitong 2500 times) and cabbage insects (both for the control of Plutella xylostella).
